Woman shot and killed while praying at church in Jamaica {VIDEO} Should they be ARMED security in CHURCH?

Andrea Lowe-Garwood

Gunmen continued to show their scant regard for life locally as they entered a church in Falmouth, Trelawny and shot a woman dead during a Sunday morning service.

The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Andrea Lowe-Garwood, a bank manager of Brook Manor in Trelawny.

Police have confirmed that the murder occurred at Agape Christian Fellowship Church in the parish capital at about 9:30 on Sunday morning.

Police investigators at the crime scene in Falmouth, Trelawny on Sunday.

A video of the incident has been circulating on social media, in which shots can be heard being fired during the singing of a hymn, forcing persons on the podium and parishioners into extreme anxiety.

Persons could be heard crying out for ‘Jesus’ and bawling loudly seconds after the shooting ended.

Jamaica has been experiencing a sharp rise in murders since the beginning of the year, and has been listed as the country where the most murders have been committed in the Caribbean and Latin America by the InSight Crime’s 2020 Homicide Round-Up, which was released on Friday.

“This shows just how far we have sunk into sin as a country when our young men feel they are going to be held in high esteem if they enter a church and commit a murder. We are so devastated by this. It is a wicked and callous act, but as Christians, we know our God is real and anybody who desecrates his house shall meet a bitter end,” one of the church members said by telephone.

The police reported that Lowe-Garwood was participating in a worship session in church when a man who was posing as a member of the congregation, walk up to her and shot her several times.

The shooter escaped in a white motorcar but reported left behind a cell phone which investigators are now scouring for clues.

Lowe-Garwood was assisted to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

It was obvious that her assailants knew her & her routine if they went to her church & killed her. When I saw the last name of the 3rd accomplice, I shook my head, though not surprised, to see that this was family. @vaughnmitchell, I heard/read this was about land but i can see either circumstance. His father, her husband, passed away last year. The stepson likely wanted his portion, but for whatever reason, wasn’t given it since stepmom was handling the estate since she was a banker. Nonetheless, two people have died and son is now in jail with no “financial” reward, smh.

Her stepson, was also in on the killings. She drop dime on the bank robbery, and the killed her, from my understanding she worked at the bank.
