A white woman has been accused of racial profiling for calling the police to investigate a black man whom she saw babysitting two white children at Walmart
Corey Lewis was in the parking lot of a Walmart in suburban Atlanta on Sunday when he says the woman approached and asked to check on the children, a 10-year-old girl and six-year-old boy.
When Lewis refused to let her speak with the girl, the woman followed him to his house and called 911 to request a welfare check on the children.
Video shot by Lewis shows a Cobb County police officer arriving at the home to question Lewis and the children.
'I'm being followed and harassed,' Lewis tells the cop. 'I got two kids I'm babysitting.'
'She pulled up talking about, are the kids ok? Why wouldn't they be ok?' Lewis continues.
The police officer asks to speak with the children himself and Lewis protests, but the children get out of a nearby car and tell the officer that he is babysitting them.
The officer explains that he is just responding to the 911 call to make sure everything is fine. Lewis tells him that he works as a youth mentor.
The police officer asked the kids to get out of the car and checked to see if they were ok
The matter was resolved when the officer called the children's parents, David Parker and Dana Mango.
'I said are you saying that because there's an African American male driving my two white kids, that he was stopped and pulled over and questioned and he said I'm sorry ma'am that's exactly what I'm saying,' Mango told CBS46.
The parents said that their son attends Lewis' mentoring program and they had arranged for him to watch the children.
Parker fumed that Lewis had been targeted for 'babysitting while black'.
The identity of the woman who called police is unclear.
Comment
Its all about envy and the demise of their population.
Somehow Trump gets blamed for usual behaviors. It was just not reported as much. This is not new.
