Trump Wants to Meet with Jacob Blake’s Family When He Visits Kenosha on Tuesday { Should they meet with him?}

Father of Jacob Blake Says He’s ‘Paralyzed From Waist Down’ Following Wisconsin Police Shooting [VIDEO] Trump & Jacob Blake

Donald Trump is trying to set up a meeting with Jacob Blake’s family during his visit to Kenosha, Wisconsin on Tuesday after the shooting victim’s father said the president should have called earlier this week and mother says she missed his call.

The president’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump revealed to Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace that Trump has reached out to Blake’s family and wants to meet with them this week.

“He’s reached to the Blake family. I don’t know if they were able to connect yet. And I don’t know for sure if that’s on the agenda,” Trump said during her interview Sunday morning. “I’m sure, given the opportunity, he’ll be more than happy to do that. But I haven’t gotten that information just yet.”

The White House announced Saturday that Trump will visit Kenosha on Tuesday following days of protests in the city after another police shooting of a black man.

Trump is already scheduled to meet with ‘law enforcement and survey damage from recent riots’, White House spokesman Judd Deere told reporters aboard Air Force One Saturday.

He did not say at the time if the president will meet the family of Blake, who was left paralyzed from the waist down after he was shot multiple times in the back by police officers.

Multiple fires continue to burn in Kenosha, Wisconsin amid protests over the police shooting yet another unarmed Black man.

As we previously reported 29-year-old Jacob Blake is fighting for his life in a hospital, and a white Kenosha, WI, police officer is under investigation after being captured on camera firing at least seven shots into the man’s back, sparking more protests against overzealous police, brutality and excessive use of force.

Video of the Aug 23 incident shows three officers standing with the man before he walks away from them toward the driver’s side of his car. An officer with his gun drawn follows Blake, then grabs the back of his shirt while firing multiple shots into his back. The victim appears to go limp in the vehicle, the car horn blaring. The injured man is then seen lying on the ground surrounded by four officers who appear to be giving him aid.

Police responded to the second night of protests on Monday by firing tear gas at hundreds of angry demonstrators who defied a curfew, threw bottles and shot fireworks at law enforcement in riot gear guarding the courthouse, per CBS Milwaukee affiliate WDJT-TV.

Democratic Governor Tony Evers condemned the shooting, and reportedly called out 125 members of the National Guard after protesters set cars on fire and clashed with officers.

“What we know for certain is that he is not the first Black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country,” said Evers.

The shooting happened Sunday evening and was captured on camera by a witness from across the street, and footage was posted online.

Blake’s family reached out to famed civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump for assistance. Crump told CNN that Blake’s three young sons were in the car when he was shot.

“They saw a cop shoot their father. They will be traumatized forever. We cannot let officers violate their duty to PROTECT us. Our kids deserve better!!” Crump said in a post on Twitter.

According to a Chicago Sun-Times reports, Blakes’s father says his son is paralyzed from the waist down as a result of the shooting.

Here’s more from CBS

An eyewitness who captured video of the shooting told CBS News that before he started filming, one officer had Blake in a headlock and another was punching him in the ribs. A female officer tased Blake, the witness said.

The witness added that Blake scuffled with police before the shooting and that he heard an officer tell Blake to “drop the knife” — although the witness said he never saw Blake holding a knife.

The governor said he’d seen no information to suggest Blake had a knife or other weapon, but that the case is still being investigated by the state Justice Department.

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said the officers “must be held accountable.”

“This morning, the nation wakes up yet again with grief and outrage that yet another Black American is a victim of excessive force,” he said, just over two months before Election Day in a country already roiled by the recent deaths of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta and Breonna Taylor in Louisville, Kentucky. “Those shots pierce the soul of our nation.”

The officers involved with the shooting have been placed on administrative leave.

An unarmed black man was shot in the back seven times by a white police officer in front of his children after Wisconsin police were called to a domestic dispute yesterday.

Rioting and looting erupted in the wake of the shooting as the County of Kenosha declared a state of emergency, and a curfew has been put into effect by authorities until 7am on Monday.

Jacob Blake, 29, was rushed to hospital following the shooting in Kenosha that prompted neighbors and crowds to gather and confront officers at the scene on Sunday night. Early Monday, family members posted that Blake was in a stable condition at the ICU in Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee.

  • Witnesses reported that at least three police officers had their guns drawn as Jacob Blake (seen above in the white t-shirt) was walking away from them in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Sunday

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers issued a statement denouncing 'excessive use of force' by police. As video of the shooting quickly went viral, protesters took to the streets of Kenosha, where police are on high alert.

Video obtained from TMX.News shows a large crowd numbering hundreds of protesters gathered outside a Kenosha police station chanting 'Black Lives Matter' and other slogans denouncing law enforcement.

Demonstrators set fire to vehicles and smashed police cruiser windows as they faced off with police, who set off tear gas canisters to try to disperse the crowd.

The shooting happened at around 5pm as officers were responding to a 'domestic incident,' the Kenosha Police Department said in a news release.

In the video, three officers could be seen shouting and pointing their weapons at Blake, who walked around the front of an SUV parked on the street.

As Blake opened the driver's side door and leaned inside, one officer grabbed his shirt from behind and then fired into the vehicle.

At least seven shots could be heard, though it was unclear if more than one officer fired.

Blake's three children were inside the SUV and watched as their father was gunned down, the family's attorney, Ben Crump, confirmed.

Several witnesses said that Blake tried to break up a fight between two women outside a nearby home, according to Kenosha News.

Before resorting to gunfire, the police attempted to subdue Blake with a Taser, to no avail, it was reported.

Benjamin Crump shared video of the incident on his Twitter feed, and confirmed today he is now representing Blake's family, and will 'demand answers' from police.

'We all watched the horrific video of Jacob Blake being shot in the back several times by Kenosha Police. Even worse, his three sons witnessed their father collapse after being riddled with bullets.

'Their irresponsible, reckless and inhumane actions nearly cost the life of a man who was simply trying to do the right thing by intervening in a domestic incident. It's a miracle he's alive.'

Crump is the attorney who represents the family of George Floyd, the 46-year-old black man who died in the custody of Minneapolis police in late May.

Floyd's death ignited massive nationwide protests and rioting as millions took to the streets over the course of several weeks to demand the police officers responsible be tried and convicted.

Following the shooting, neighbors could be seen gathering in the streets and hurling comments at police. Some could be heard chanting, 'No justice, no peace.'

Several protesters jumped on top of police squad cars and smashed windows.

One video circulating on social media shows a Kenosha police officer collapse to the pavement after witnesses said he was struck with a brick.

Another video shows a row of protesters walking toward a line of police officers clad in riot gear as simmering tensions threaten to escalate the situation.

A dump truck that was parked at an intersection to prevent traffic from moving toward the police department was set on fire.

Several curious onlookers got close to the burning truck and started taking pictures, but others warned them that the fire could lead to an explosion and warned them to back away.

At 11:05pm, police formed a cordon around the front doors of the police station and then fired tear gas canisters in an effort to disperse a large crowd that had gathered there.

'No justice, no peace!' the crowd was heard chanting.

A man could be seen breaking the window of a patrol car parked along the street.

Some police officers were positioned on the roof of the station as people continued toward the building.

Outside the station, protesters faced off with officers who were dressed in riot gear that included plastic facemasks and held plastic shields and batons that they occasionally used to push people back.

A truck that was parked outside the courthouse in Kenosha was also set on fire.

Kenosha Police referred all questions to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, which did not immediately respond to messages seeking to confirm details of the video.

The Kenosha Sheriff´s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol were requested at the scene so another law enforcement agency could take over, police said in the news release.

The city of Kenosha is located on Lake Michigan, about 40 miles south of Milwaukee.

A Kenosha Police Department dispatcher referred calls by The Associated Press to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the agency that will be investigating the shooting.

A message left with DOJ was not immediately returned.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers released a statement regarding the shooting late Sunday evening.

'Tonight, Jacob Blake was shot in the back multiple times, in broad daylight, in Kenosha, Wisconsin,' the statement read.

'Kathy and I join his family, friends, and neighbors in hoping earnestly that he will not succumb to his injuries.

The governor continued: 'We stand with all those who have and continue to demand justice, equity, and accountability for Black lives in our country - lives like those of George Floyd, of Breonna Taylor, Tony Robinson, Dontre Hamilton, Ernest Lacy, and Sylville Smith.

'And we stand against excessive use of force and immediate escalation when engaging with Black Wisconsinites.'

This is the problem with niggers stop repeating or do what others tell you to do, take your own stand, make up your own mind, how can you know a person or put his or her back against the wall if you dont sit down and get to their mind, lets hear what he has to say, that is the mistake the black community made for the past 4 years, they never sat down and try to reach some type of compromise with Trump, not even their leaders were smart enough to do so

They listened to the white democrats lile puppets, but look what happened to the hbcu instead of begging for funds every year he guaranty the funds for 10 years directly to black colleges, not even Obama or Clinton did that, but thats what happens when you work with people, what if business people made the same mistake as black people how successful would they be, negros like everything for free they too lazy to work for what they want, when every intelligent persons know that no great things come without sacrifice, may be if the parents know what to say they can have him pass some type of bill to at least ease things in the future, so yes they should sit down and have a conversation with him, in fact do it on camera so you can have proof of any promises

Its an embarrassment in 2020 the same thing is happening to the same people like it was in the 50s and 60s, your officials can pass same sex marriage, they renew Daca but couldnt pass no restriction on police brutality. To the niggers who vote for those people do you ever ask them how hard is it to pass police reform compare those other laws they passed, they is embarrassing to watch fathers, mothers crying like babies on national tv, the 2 little boys in the back of the cat get to witness how life dont matter, what is the difference between slavery days and now?

But when you vote without demands and so not have any agenda of being independent thats what you get in return, you are so loyal to that party and rely on them for hand outs, and please dont tell me about you cannot vote republican, when do you send a message to the people you vote for, when do you try to take a risk and change things, you had so many opportunity to vote independent and gain some type of power, what if you did vote for an independent candidate who would represent you?

But when you are a conditioned slave under your masters command you accept an embrace slavery as a normal life, why do you think they hate Bernie Sanders, he is the only democratic candidate who address black issues, reparation, free colleges, home ownership and business assistance, better school, and injustice but you did not vote for him, you made every excuses but votes for Hillary, you niggers deserve to be slaves, like Harriet Tubman said i could of free a 1000 if only they knew they were slaves, you niggers are so loyal to your masters it dont matter how many innocent black people the police kill, you go right back and vote for the democrats, they are law makers but cant pass no laws to protect you, sad but not sorry

I am not in agreement with police shooting anyone, but going to the car, and going into the car was not a wise thing to do,  Just stand there in the open, and put your hands up. Yes, they shoot even when hands are up, but with hands up, it is clear that you are not reaching for any weapon.  And Black men, stop treating your mate and family like a tyrant, where they have to call law enforcement. Your mate should be treated like a queen and not like a piece of property. When I was a residential security guard, I saw so many cases of Black and Hispanic men ill-treating their mate so badly  that the mate has to call the police.  And when the police comes, the tyrant still acts up and end up in jail.  And the same mate he ill-treated goes and bails him out, he then goes right back to ill-treating his mate and family.
