Why doesn't she play the video and then comment. The point she is trying to make is what?

Although I understand that the narrator is attempting to use this video for a teachable moment on the genesis and/or characteristics of racial biases, I agree that the constant interruptions and patronizing inferences were unnecessary.

The video was self evident. I agree with TIG that it is apparent that this whole video was a setup to illicit reactions. I don't agree that this is in any way indicative of most children's reactions. Children are still innocent and naturally neutral unless/until influenced otherwise.

As a reply to El-Bull. It's all about no one, whites or blacks knowing our full and true history. Whites should embrace what blacks accomplished for them and revere this world we have now that was built on the backs of so many who were oppressed and terrorized. At LEAST they could respect it. And we would also gain to know the real truth and know we deserve more than even we aspire to. We are good and caring and loving human beings. That's how we should be seen.

I'm with you girl. For our children of color we didn't reject those European looking Barbie dolls. Rather most of our children preferred those too. I have 3 granddaughters who are half and half. We choose to give them dolls that look like them. What's ironic is my son said one doll he bought was called Mexican not even Latino and the other native American. Because of the skin coloring. As many mixed kids as there are now, it's also time to make that a norm.

OK, Ms...if you're going to show a video and narrate it. You have to show the video and than do all that damn talking!
