Mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner lost it during a campaign stop at a Borough Park bakery Wednesday when a man insulted him. As he walked out the door, a man identified by The Observer as Saul Kessler, allegedly called him a scumbag off camera, and Weiner spun around and walked back inside. “Takes one to know one, jackass,” Weiner said. “You wait till I walk out to say anything? That’s courage.” Trying to reinvigorate flagging his flagging poll numbers, Weiner was in the middle of a tour of Brooklyn on the eve of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. “And you’re a perfect person, you’re my judge?” Weiner asked. “You’re fine, you talk to god and work out your problems, but stay out of the public eye,” Kessler said. “Go visit with your rabbi, shows how much you know,” Weiner fired back. After the heated discussion the former congressman walked out of the bakery, coolly sipping an iced coffee. “Do you get that often?” a cameraman asked him. “No, but when I do I don’t back down,” Weiner replied. A man outside apologized for the incident, but Weiner brushed off the heated exchange. “No, no, no, he has every right to, this is America.” When asked if he would forgive him considering it was the day before Rosh Hashanah, Weiner replied, “Of course, I don’t hold it against him.” With his chances at Bloomberg’s post fading, Weiner seems to have been increasingly uncensored on the campaign trail. In early August, Weiner mocked both a German and British journalist during a campaign stop in Harlem.
NO ONES PERFECT, EVERY ONE HAS SKELETONS! WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE?
