Vybz Kartel’s “Fine Fine” Text Sent Three Days After Lizard’s Murder

Vybz Kartel Will Not Be Freed This Month Appeal Ended Without Verdict

Vybz Kartel Blackberry

Was the “fine fine” text message evidence in Vybz Kartel case sent three days after Lizard’s murder.

One of the prosecutors in Vybz Kartel‘s case, Orrett Brown, says the controversial chop up “fine fine” text message was sent three days after the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. Defense attorneys and prosecutors row in court earlier this week over the validity of a text message sent from a Blackberry smartphone seized from Kartel where he admitted to killing Clive “Lizard” Williams.

According to the defense, Williams was killed on August 16, 2011, but the text message lifted from the Blackberry was sent six weeks before that date. Assistant Director of Public Prosecution, Orrett Brown, told the Court of Appeal that the defense attorneys statement on the validity of the text message is a “misapprehension of the evidence.”

Brown told the court that it was that file containing the text message evidence that was created six weeks before the murder. However, the text itself was sent from the phone three days after the gruesome murder of Clive Williams. Let’s not forget that Williams’ body was never found.

“Between me and you a chop wi chop up di bwoy Lizard fine fine and dash him weh nuh. As long as wi a live dem can never find him,” the text message reads.

There was another text message that was sent out by the cell phone after it was taken from Vybz Kartel. Brown says investigators likely sent that message to find out the phone number of the sim card. He said this is a standard procedure used by law enforcement especially in a case where a phone is locked.

Regarding four phone calls that were made by said phone while it’s in police custody, Brown could not offer up an explanation for those calls. Defense attorneys contend that the cell phone was tampered with by police officers and evidence was fabricated to secure a conviction.

The Court of Appeal judges are now deliberately the case.

Vybz Kartel Admitted To Murder In Damning Text Messages? Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm

Vybz Kartel faith is now sitting in the hands of three Court of Appeal judges.

Some of Vybz Kartel fans will not be too happy about this piece of news, while others will sit tight and wait for the appeal court to reach a verdict, which could take weeks or months. The bottom line is Kartel and his co-accused will not be freed this month. Gazanation fans were hoping that the aced dancehall star would walk free from prison this month, or at least know his fate, but that will not happen.

The defense and prosecution wrapped their presentation in the Jamaica court of appeal on Tuesday (July 24th). President of the Court of Appeal Justice Dennis Morrison told the court that the judges have not yet reached a verdict in the week and a half appeal case. Morrison also revealed that he would not give any indication when a verdict will be reached but will give the case priority due to the level of public interest.

Appeal cases in Jamaica can sometimes take weeks to months before a verdict is reached as the judges carefully examine each appeal case before handing down a ruling. Vybz Kartel case is a bit unusual in both the length of the trial and the high level of media and public interest.

A typical appeal case in Jamaica is roughly three days, but Kartel’s case lasted eight days in the appeal court with the defense taking up five days to present their arguments. Let’s also not forget that the 2014 murder trial is the longest murder trial in Jamaica’s history.

Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, is now serving life for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. The “Fever” deejay along with his three co-accused, Shawn Storm, Kahira Jones, and Andre St John, filed an appeal to have their conviction overturned.

The defense teams argued in court last week that the judge handed down several questionable rulings and appeared bias against the accused men in his summation of the evidence. The defense team also put the prosecution on blast for some unethical decision regarding allowing the jury to deliberate even though it was tainted. The defense team, headed by Queens Council Valrie Neita-Robertson, put some of the evidence under the microscope that she said was mishandled by law enforcement and may have even tampered with a cell phone seized from Kartel.

The prosecution claps back saying that some 19 circumstantial evidence was used to convict the four men and they should remain in prison.

Vybz Kartel Attorneys Wants Full Acquittal Instead Of New Trial

Did Vybz Kartel admit to killing Lizard in a text message?
Vybz Kartel defense team wants the Court of Appeal to exonerate him, but the prosecution wants him to remain behind bars for life. Lead prosecutor, Jeremy Taylor, in his presentation to the Court of Appeal judges on Monday, argues that some damning text messages lifted from a phone belonging to Kartel should be treated as an admission of guilt. These are text messages taken from the same phone that police allegedly tampered with while having it in their custody.

In one of the text messages taken from the BlackBerry smartphone, Vybz Kartel told someone that Clive “Lizard” Williams’ body was chopped “fine fine” and his body will never be found. “Between me and you a chop wi chop up di bwoy Lizard fine fine and dash him weh nuh. As long as wi a live dem can never find him,” the test message read to which the recipient responded saying, “Yea man, a mince meat that.”

Taylor asked the three Court of Appeal judges to view the text message as an admission to murder. This will put the judges in a dilemma since these are messages lifted from the same phone that is under scrutiny for being tampered with by police officers.

According to the defense, the phone made four calls while it was in possession of law enforcement officials. Defense attorneys also argued that the phone sent out a text message weeks after being in possession of cops investigating Lizard’s murder.

Taylor also pointed out text messages from Shawn Storm saying that someone is going to die, as well as, messages from the victim Clive Williams asking for the police to get involved.

Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones, are currently serving life for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. The four men have maintained their innocence and are appealing the 2014 conviction.

Jeremy Taylor argued in court on Monday that even if the court accepted inadmissible evidence during the trial, there were some 19 pieces of other circumstantial evidence that he believed would lead the jury to reach the same verdict. The defense team will have a chance on Tuesday to rebut some of the prosecution’s arguments.

Vybz Kartel Appeal: Lawyers Put Trial Judge In The Hot Seat
Vybz Kartel and Shawn StormVybz Kartel and Shawn Storm’s defense attorneys want full acquittal of the convicted men and not a new trial.

Lawyers representing convicted murderers Vybz Kartel Shawn Storm, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones, gave their arguments in the Court of Appeal last week where they put the prosecution and the trial judge in the hot seat. The legal team, headed by Valrie Neita-Robertson and Bert Samuels asked the appeal court judges to completely exonerate the four men of the murder conviction and not ordered a retrial.

Shawn “Storm” Campbell’s attorney, Bert Samuels, urged the judges not to give the prosecution a second chance to correct their wrongs in the first trial. “Any attempt to cure them for retrial purposes would be to give the prosecution a second bite at an infected cherry,” Samuels said in court.

The veteran criminal defense attorney argued that the case had multiple deficiencies that cannot be corrected. The lawyers chided trial judge Justice Lennox Campbell last week for making several controversial rulings and appearing bias in his summation of the case. The defense team argued that the judge should not have allowed tainted evidence to be admitted in court and should’ve ordered a new trial when he learned about the corrupt intent of one juror.

Sources close to the case told Urban Islandz that Vybz Kartel agrees that he doesn’t want a new trial since it will still put him at a disadvantage with several tainted evidence being already admissible. “Kartel and his lawyers went through the appeal in details and he is of the view that a new trial would still put him at a disadvantage in terms of the evidence tampering and the case being so highly publicized in the court of public opinion,” sources told us.

The prosecution is currently giving their rebuttal to the defense arguments and is expected to wrap today or tomorrow.

Vybz Kartel Appeal Update: Court Accepts New Evidence Vybz Kartel

Vybz Kartel appeal reached high drama in court this week when the defense attorneys put the trial judge in the hot seat.

Arguments for Vybz Karteland his co-accused appeal trial were presented in the Jamaica Court of Appeal this week. The dancehall icon was represented by Queen’s Counsel Valerie Neita-Robertson who rips into trial judge Justice Lennox Campbell for handing down several inappropriate rulings in the 2014 murder trial. Neita-Robertson calls the judge bias against her client and that put him at a disadvantage that may have lead to his murder conviction.

For starters, the defense team argued in court this week that the judge should’ve declared a mistrial when he found out about one of the juror’s corrupt intent. Juror Livingston Caine was arrested in court on the last day of the trial and slapped with corruption charges for allegedly trying to bribe the forewoman and other colleagues with $500,000 in return for a not guilty verdict.

Neita-Robertson also argued that Justice Lennox Campbell misquoted the evidence, failed failed to instruct the jury correctly, and gave a bias summation of the evidence. “A judge is not entitled to sum up the evidence in a way that it appears unbalanced,” the veteran trial lawyer said.

Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm

Neita-Robertson says Justice Lennox Campbell, in his summation, pointed out the main witness evidence where he said the murder victim, Clive “Lizard” Williams was lying motionless on the floor. “Imagine that: he had walked into the room on his own two feet,” the judge said. The attorney argued that the judge’s comments were speculative and prejudicial to the case against her client and was suggesting that there was some new discovery regarding Lizard’s motionless body on the floor.

Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre St John, were convicted of murder in March 2014. The four men were given life sentences with Vybz Kartel becoming eligible for parole after serving 35 years. The defense argued that the sentencing handed down by the judge was excessive.

Valerie Neita-Robertson also turned her attention to the damning cell phone evidence. During his arrest, Vybz Kartel and his co-accused phones were seized by cops. One of the phones belonging to the dancehall deejay sent out a text message weeks later that stated that Williams body was chopped “fine fine” and disposed of at sea. The defense team thus accused the police department of tampering with the evidence and requested it to be omitted from the trial. The judge ruled to accept the tainted cell phone evidence in the case and in his summation he inserted himself into the mix.

During his summation of the evidence relating to the cell phone text message, the trial judge started off saying “This is what we are saying.” The judge then told the jury that the author of the text message would’ve known that Clive “Lizard” Williams was dead later painted a picture that the police could not have sent the message. This, Neita-Robertson said, is a blatant attempt by the judge to “crafted out a view to show that the police could not have interfered with the text.”

Neita-Robertson also pointed out several occasions where she thinks the judge made comments that were prejudicial and other occasions where he failed to make the right judgment call when issues arose during the high profile murder trial.

On Tuesday, Vybz Kartel’s former protege Vanessa “Bling” Saddler was tossed right back into the murder case when the defense team questioned why the prosecution introduced evidence pertaining to her in the case. Neita-Robertson also argued that the prosecution introduced evidence relating to text messages that Clive Williams allegedly sent to his girlfriend after the alleged murder. She argued that the judge accepted these evidence without the proper groundwork and without these witnesses being called to testify.

Neita-Robertson argued that on the final day of the trial, the judge sent the jury to deliberate at 3:42 PM, which is beyond the standard rule that the jury should not be sent for deliberations beyond 3:00 PM to avoid a scenario where they would rush to reach a verdict. Let’s also not forget that this was the longest murder trial in Jamaica’s history.

Vybz Kartel’s Appeal Trial Starts Next Week: Everything You Should Know Vybz Kartel

Vybz Kartel defense lawyers have requested that the Court of Appeal accepts fresh evidence in their appeal case and the judges accepted them.

Vybz Kartel whose real name is Adidja Palmer, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones, are all seeking to have the appeal court overturn their 2014 murder conviction. The legal team representing the four men, filed legal docs in court this morning to enter fresh evidence in their case. The new evidence includes an affidavit given by attorney-at-law Kimberli Whittaker which includes crucial statements made by two of the jurors from the murder trial in 2014.

The jurors statements are part of a case that cops are building against another juror, Livingston Caine, who allegedly tried to bribe other members of the jury including the forewoman in an effort to have them return a not guilty verdict.

Kartel’s attorney, Valerie Neita-Robertson, confirmed that the two jurors statements indicated that the corrupt juror approached the forewoman and offered her a bribe in exchange to exonerate the accused men at the end of the trial. This is a blatant attempt to taint the juror and should be enough to toss the case.

The lead prosecutor, Jeremy Taylor, asked the court to reject the defense application for fresh evidence. Taylor told the Appeal Court that the jury forewoman played a recording of the alleged attempted bribe for other members of the jury. Neita-Robertson pushed back saying that just reinforces her argument that the jury is tainted which makes the panel incapable of sitting on the case.

Neita-Robertson argued that if the judge had conducted an inquiry into the affairs of the jury, then he would’ve dissolved the jury and ordered a new trial. Shawn Storm’s attorney, Bert Samuels, also requested that the court entered into evidence a handwritten statement by the prosecutions main witness, as well as, an affidavit filed by Kimberly Cranston.

The Court of Appeal judges overseeing the case, Justice Dennis Morrison, Justice Patrick Brooks, and Frank Williams, have sided with the defense team and rule to allow the hearing of the new evidence.

Vybz Kartel Attacks Weave Wearing Black Women Who Criticize His White Girlfriend Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm

Vybz Kartel and Shawn Storm appeal trial is set to get underway next week Monday (July 9th), here is everything you need to know about the case.
Vybz Kartel’s appeal case is set to begin in the Jamaica Court of Appeal next week. After four years of waiting to present their case in front of the appeal court judges, Tom Tavares-Finson is now ready for another showdown with prosecutors. We’re told that the dancehall artist’s lawyers are fully prepared for the case and are confident that they have a solid case.

Nevertheless, Vybz Kartel and his people are of the view that the system is against them, so they know that they have an uphill battle in the justice system. “We are confident in our lawyers, we know that they will present a solid case, but we also know that the system is against us,” a rep for the dancehall hitmaker said.

Vybz Kartel murder conviction: On March 13, 2014, Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, and his co-accused, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, and André St John, were convicted for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. Another co-accused, Shane Williams, had his charges dropped after cops were unable to link him to the murder. Law enforcement authorities say Lizard was a friend of the artist and was killed over two missing guns belonging to the dancehall icon.

Prosecutors played video and audio records of Kartel and his co-accused plotting to kill Williams over the missing firearms. In one of the audio recordings, one man was heard telling another man that Williams’ body was chopped in fine pieces and disposed of in the sea. The victim’s body was never found.

Vybz Kartel sentenced to life: On April 3, 2014, Vybz Kartel was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams. The “Fever” deejay will have to serve 35 years before being eligible for parole. Shawn Storm was also sentenced to life and will have to serve 25 years before getting a parole hearing. Kahira Jones and Andre St John will have to serve 25 years and 30 years respectively before being eligible for parole.

Kartel was sentenced to life at hard labor meaning he is required to work in prison. The nature of his job is not known, but sources said that he regularly works in the kitchen where he cooks for other inmates.

Vybz Kartel accused of bribing juror: One juror in the murder case is facing jail time for allegedly attempting to bribe the jury forewoman and other members of the 11-member jury panel. Livingston Caine was arrested in court on the day of Kartel’s murder conviction and charged with attempt to pervert the course of justice.

Caine allegedly promised to pay the jury forewoman $500,000 to return a not guilty verdict in the case. He also told one juror that the accused men are talented artists and should be set free. Kartel denied any involvement in the alleged bribery scheme.

Vybz Kartel files appeal: In 2014, Kartel’s legal team formally filed legal documents for his appeal. Throughout the trial, the dancehall deejay maintained his innocence while his attorney argued that there were numerous problems with the case including police tampering with evidence and intimidating witnesses. Cops were accused of improperly handling the cellphone evidence which the prosecution used to convict the four men.

In March 2017, Vybz Kartel was given the green light to proceed with his appeal after the Court of Appeal reviewed his case and ruled that he has grounds for a new trial. The appeal trial date was originally set for February 19 of this year, but his legal team asked for more time to prepare for the case. The trial was then pushed back to July 9, 2018, which is a week from today.

Vybz Kartel Blast His Fans For Hating On His New GirlfriendVybz Kartel black women

Vybz Kartel went HAM on weave wearing black women for criticizing his white girlfriend.

The incarcerated dancehall star issued a blistering take-down of black women for wearing false hair and nails while criticizing his white girlfriend on Instagram. Vybz Kartel is pretty much telling black women to check themselves for coming for him and his girlfriend. Earlier this week, Kartel posted a photo of his Turkish girlfriend on IG and his fans immediately went on the attack and then he pushed back calling them “simple-minded” for hating on her

Two days later, Vybz Kartel posted another blistering attack and our Gaza sources are telling us that the deejay is very upset about the criticizing laid out against his girlfriend. “99.99% of Black Women (1)cream their hair or (2)wear “caucasian” wigs,” Kartel wrote.

We’re told that Vybz Kartel feels strongly enough about it to the extent that he wrote a song about it. He also disabled the comment section on the post because he is not interested in hearing anyone’s opinion.

“They Braid their hair, put GLUE on it and cover it with a wig made from the WHITE WOMEN HAIR,” Kartel added. “Then they flash it as if it their own while taking selfies or pretty pics at parties. Question; ARE YOU BRAZILIAN? But u want BRAZILIAN HAIR! Or some other form of hair that is NOT African. As a matter of fact, BLACK PEOPLE CALL WHITE PEOPLES HAIR “pretty hair”. Smfh I’ve seen black ppl in church with cream hair and false hair praying to god. You’re hypocrites!”

Vybz Kartel ends his statement by saying, “BLACK PEOPLE CHECK YOURSELF BEFORE YOU CHECK SOMEONE ELSE.” Kartel previously came under heavy criticism for bleaching his skin and even back then he pushed back against his critics by calling them, hypocrites.

Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, will be back in court tomorrow for a pre-appeal trial hearing. The trial is set for July 9th.

Vybz Kartel New GirlfriendVybz Kartel put his own fans on blast for disrespecting his new girlfriend.

The “Luxury Doll” deejay posted a few photos of his new girlfriend on Instagram on Monday. This is not the first time that the deejay is posting a pic of his new bae, but this is the first time that he is confirming that they are dating. Some of you may be wondering how does Vybz Kartel get to date women from prison, well these relationships happen all the time and being a famous celebrity makes it even easier.

“Xoxo.. SidemOzturk,” Kartel captioned the post. She goes by the name Sidy Gaza and she is from Turkey. Sources said that she and Vybz Kartel have been dating from around 2016 and she regularly flies to Jamaica to visit him in prison. She also commented on the post saying, “My baby I love you… So Much.” Kartel responded by saying, “Love you mi baby. oh.”

Seems some of the Gaza girls wasn’t too happy about Vybz Kartel post and left some pretty nasty comments calling the deejay’s girlfriend some shocking things. “Worl’Boss sell we out just another black man stepping on black woman for a white b**ch,” one fan wrote while another added, “Where Kartel get these fake Gaza groupie, you can do better than this boss. This you left Shorty for?”

Some of the deejay’s fans even questioned her ethnicity. Vybz Kartel has since disabled the comments on the posts and edit the caption blasting his fans for hating on his new girlfriend. “Shes white? Lol come offa mi page wid simple minded ignorant rubbish,” Kartel wrote.

Vybz Kartel will be back in court on Thursday of this week for the final appeal hearing ahead of the trial set for July 9th. Urban Islandz will keep you updated on the developments in the case.

Keep that damn murderer in jail for life without parole. If he or any of those guys get out they will lol, at the Jamaican justice system. Trying to use cell phone tampering as an excuse, a damn joke. As for that juror, I would not be surprised he was paid to taint the case that's why he is in jail.
