Was Jada Pinkett Smith Too Harsh On Snoop Dogg On Red Table Talk? snoop dogg red table talk

*On Wednesday, Jada Pinkett Smith, her daughter Willow and mother Adriennedished with Snoop Dogg on Red Table Talk about the controversy over his rant to Gayle King, and what led to his apology.

During the conversation, the West Coast icon explained that King was out-of-pocket for bringing up Kobe Bryant's 2003 sexual assault case in an interview with WNBA star Lisa Leslie after the NBA legend and eight others were killed in a helicopter crash on January 26, including his 12-year-old daughter Gianna

“It was just a matter of me losing control. We still ain’t even swallowed Nip,” Snoop said of his reaction to King’s conversation with Leslie about Kobe’s legacy, via Page Six. “Then Kobe and his daughter? I lost a grandson, a grandmother. Then I got to be strong in front of everybody….You gotta be Snoop again. But what about when I want to cry? What about when I’m hurt and I’m feeling bad. And I feel disgusted and I want to be angry. I can’t. I let my emotions get the best of me. I was frustrated on top of just venting and doing it the wrong way.”

He continued, “It had got bad fast. It went from me just venting to I’m mad and yeah! To ‘Uh oh. I got the whole world in an uproar.’ What’s crazy is you may think it was more people against me. It was more people with me. That was the strange part. ‘Thanks Snoop. You said what we been wanting to say. But you shouldn’t have said it like that’…”

Snoop recalled his celebrity friends who reached out to support him amid the controversy with Gayle.

“When this thing happened with Gayle, I got calls from Tyler Perry, Puff Daddy, Van Jones, powerful Black men. And they didn’t bash me. They just was, ‘Brotha, we got your back. But we think that you … could have went about it a little different.’

Snopp’s mother is the reason why he ultimately decided to apologize to King.

“This time was different because my momma called. My mother raised me in church and she raised me to respect women. It was just certain things that she said to me that made me feel like a little kid. And when your momma can make you feel like a little kid, you know you got to get right. I didn’t feel grown. I didn’t feel like Snoop Dogg the rapper, I felt like Snoopy.

“And she didn’t say I was wrong she just said, ‘You know I raised you better than that. You’re a representation of us. Every woman that ever crossed your life, you’re a representation of that.’ So I got it. I didn’t tell my team. I didn’t go to my publicist. I just did it … The apology is authentic. It’s sincere and I’m really sorry … Just man up and deal with it. I don’t mind being checked. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong.”

We Gotta Do Better: Michael Eric Dyson Responds To The Controversial Gayle King Interview {VIDEO} Do you agree with him? Jada Pinkett Makes Teary Eyed Snoop Dogg Re-Apologize To Gayle King!Snoop Dogg will be appearing on this week's episode of Jada Pinkett Smith's Red Table Talk, and he's re-apologizing for the comments he made towards Gayle King.

In the preview clip, she can be heard telling the gangster rapper that her "heart dropped" when she heard his comments aimed at the CBS News anchor, Gayle King:

"When you first came out and you said what you said... you know, in regards to Gayle... my heart dropped. I felt that not only were you talking to Gayle, but you were talking to me. I was like, 'Oh no, Snoop has now taken the power flow away from me, away from Willow, away from my mother," she can be seen telling Snoop.

"I was like -- If this is what's happening... not Snoop! That's one of the reasons I felt like I really wanted to have a conversation with you in the spirit of healing."

Earlier this month, Snoop issued King with a public apology:

"Gayle King, I publicly tore you down by coming at you in a derogatory manner based off of being angry at questions that you asked. Umm, overreacted," he said.

"[I]Should have handled it way different than that. So I would like to apologize to you publicly for the language that I used and calling you out of your name and just being disrespectful," he continued. "I didn't mean for it to be like that. I was just expressing myself for a friend that wasn't here to defend himself."

Snoop Dogg Apologizes To Gayle: I Wasn't Threatening A 70 Yr Old Woman

Michael Eric Dyson has issues with the way Snoop Dogg addressed Gayle King following her controversial interview with Lisa Leslie.
On Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, Snoop Dogg responded by lashing out at King, 65, and claiming that she and Oprah have an agenda to destroy Black men.
“I swear to God, we the worse,” Snoop said in the video he posted on his Instagram page. “We expect more from you, Gayle. Don’t you hang out with Oprah? Why ya’ll attacking us? We’re your people.” Snoop paused for a few seconds before rhetorically asking, “Is it OK if I call her one?” Then he proceeded to call King a “b—-.”

In the video, Snoop also said, “Respect the family and back off before we come get you.”

Some viewed Snoop’s last statement as a threat. On Feb. 8, author and college professor, Michael Eric Dyson took aim at the language Snoop used against King.

“The response to Gayle King’s interview with Lisa Leslie contains many elements that I think are deeply and profoundly problematic,” Dyson said in an Instagram post. “To begin with, I loved Kobe Bryant and mourn him to this day. I knew him well. People who are deeply and profoundly upset at that interview between Gayle King and Lisa Leslie. I understand that and there’s a legitimate platform to be had by questioning whether King should have raised it in that fashion. But think about it this way. Without her having raised it, Lisa Leslie would not have had the opportunity to speak to it in a profoundly compelling and cultured fashion.”

Dyson continued by saying, “Let’s not try to demonize [Oprah and King] and disrespect them and insult them in ways that are contradictory to what Kobe Bryant would want. If Kobe Bryant were alive, he would find this reprehensible. He would say stop this. The Black Mamba was not down with that. He was about loving and elevating and appreciating Black women. Isn’t that ironic, the very people who are talking about Black people, hurting other Black people are hurting other Black people? And if you’re a Black man, and you want to help Black people, then stop making rap records that call women out of their name.”

Snoop clarified his statement on a video posted on Instagram by saying, “I’m a non-violent person, when I said what I said, I spoke for the people who felt like Gayle was very disrespectful towards Kobe Bryant and his family.”

Snoop continued, “Now with that being said, what I look like wanting some harm to come to a 70-year-old woman? I was raised way better than that. I don’t want no harm to come to her and I didn’t threaten her, all I did was said, ‘check it out, you outta pocket for what you doing and we watching you. Have a little more respect for Vanessa, her babies and Kobe Bryant’s legacy.’”

On Feb. 7, Oprah told the “Today” show that King was not doing well and feared for safety following the reactions from her interview with Leslie.

Twitter Drags Bill Cosby As He Thanks Snoop Dogg For His Support Snoop Dogg Apologizes To Gayle: I Wasn't Threatening A 70 Yr Old Woman!!Snoop Dogg is backing away from the apparent threats he made against Gayle King recently. Snoop was one of many celebrities who came out and publicly blasted Gayle for conducting what appeared to be a very biased interview against Kobe Bryant with former WNBA player Lisa Leslie, where Gayle appeared to accuse Bryant of rape.

But Snoop went too far, calling Gayle a "dog faced b*tch." He also suggested he could send people to harm the 70 year old CBS talk show host.

Well now Snoop is backing away from his words . . . or clarifying. The 49 year old Snoop went on IG yesterday and said he's "a non-violent man."

The 19990 rapper continued, "I didn't threaten [Gayle]. All I did was said ... you out of pocket for what you're doing and we're watching you." He also asked Gayle, and other Kobe detractors to "think about Vanessa and the babies."

Twitter Drags Bill Cosby As He Thanks Snoop Dogg For His Support!!

Twitter was in uproar on Thursday after Bill Cosby tweeted rapper Snoop Dogg a tweet thanking him for his support after Snooped dragged Gayle King over her recent interview with Lisa Leslie.

King faced backlash this week after she asked the WBNA star about Bryant's old rape allegation - and Snoop, unhappy about her line of questioning, compared Bryant's struggle to that of Bill Cosby and Michael Jackson.

"Did that fake ass micheal Jackson sh*t to tarnish his name with them lying ass kids and here she is with a known rapist smiling and laughing. F*c* u and King. Free bill Cosby," Snoop wrote in the caption of his Instagram post.

Cosby somehow caught wind of Snoop's words from prison - and responded with an appreciation post:

"Snoop - when they brought me to my gated community and placed me inside of my penthouse, they didn't win nor did they silence me. It's so sad and disappointing that successful Black Women are being used to tarnish the image and legacy of successful Black Men, even in death," Cosby wrote.

"Are these people that in need of fame, ratings and/or money? On behalf of myself, Camille and my family, thank you, thank you and thank you. My heartfelt prayers are with Kobe and his family, as well as with Michael Jackson and his family. May their legacies live on forever," he continued while adding several hashtags including, #StopTearingDownBlackMen,

#EnoughIsEnough, #KobeLegacyLivesOn, and #GiannaLegacyLivesOn," and Twitter lost its mind and let them both have it!

Watching people stand in the trenches with Bill Cosby, the same man who went on a national tour to degrade them, is the saddest story ever told.

Bill Cosby would've spit on Snoop Dogg before he was incarcerated. Now, Snoop's caping for a man who considered him the scourge of society, a detriment to Black progress and liberation. This s*** is insane.

Bill Cosby drugged and raped a LOT of women, and you want that disgusting a****** roaming the streets? He is just as bad as Weinstein. Both you and need to sort yourselves out. Jot this down: Whether you rape one person or 20, you are still a rapist... dead or alive.

Comment by BIIGMANN on February 25, 2020 at 1:41pm

Snoop doesnt have tho apologized at all.  WTF?  SHE'S WAS OUT OF POCKET, SHE SHOOTS APOLOGIZE FOR NOT BEING BLACK

Comment by mr1stroke on February 24, 2020 at 9:54pm

niggers dont have any back bones or a ground to stand on, they would make him apologize to gayle even if gayle killed his kids, they set a platform of what you can and cannot do as a negro, play your role, white men always protect the black females from black men and make sure they dont get along

Comment by vaughn mitchell on February 12, 2020 at 11:45am
Ever since the Color Purple, Oprah, has been slowly trying to destroy black men accuse of crimes, who have not been found guilty. It seems her friend Gayle King seems to be doing the same thing. They both need to be checked. Let them keep coming after black men, they are going to come after the wrong one, and the results might not be pretty. They are like scavengers waiting to pick the meat off the dead. They are a black mans worse nightmare. White women/ white people love them for throwing dirt on black men. Let them go after Kirk Douglas, who died at 102. He raped actress Natalie Wood, at the age of 14. But guess what they won't touch him or white people would get rid of them, Gayle would be blackballed and Oprah, would be demonize, but it's easier to go after black men rather than go after white men.
Comment by mr1stroke on February 11, 2020 at 5:18pm

mihael is out of touch and looking for a hug, if only he can give us a list of things that operah and gayle of done for black men, and that goes for every one who feels the same if you are going to defend someone or a cause dont talk out your ass, state the facts that support your arguments, we know what they do for some of the little black girls, we know what they do for white girls and what women in America and abroad, but foir as long as they have been bashing black men, what have they done to help black men, and even if they did anything for black men we have to call them out when they are wrong, take the black females in America who hold tv and rdio shows how have they help black men, all they do is bash black men and destroy what ever they do, white females with shows help more black men and celbrate black men more than black women do in the industry the only times many come to a black men is when they need something, stop living in denial

Crazy Oprah, and dumb ass Gayle King, scared cause she receive death threats, Snoop had let her know he never threaten her life. To stab the black man his back, they use black women to do it. You notice how white women stick up for the supreme Court Justice, but when it come to our own we are quick to judge them.
