Should Kanye West Be Banned From George Clooney's Haiti Relief Telethon?

It looks like the actions of Kanye West in the past and his constant issue with checking his ego at the door hasn't paid off for the rapper even now.

In an attempt to bring as many supporters as possible to aid in the relief of Haiti, there have been countless telethons being conducted to raise awareness and donations for the country after the devastation that it's suffered.

Actor George Clooney is doing his part with his own telethon, but reports are saying that he won't allow West to participate in the fundraiser which will be broadcasted tomorrow.

Sources have added that they are going out of their way to ensure that West doesn't make an unwanted appearance, courtesy gawker.com.

“After what he said on the Katrina telethon and the way he behaved at the MTV Video Music Awards, everyone agrees it's just best that he does not participate,” said a producer.

Where some blame it on his passion, others look at it as a little kid trying to just get everyone's attention while embarrassing others in the process.

“Kanye has to make everything about himself. He will do anything to steal the spotlight, and, well, this night it's just not about him.”

There have been no statements released by West.

Damn, first President Obama calls him a ‘jackass' and now he's not allowed to help raise funds for Haiti…smh…the past always finds a way to catch up.

Yes, we all make mistakes, but when we do, especially to the magnitude of Kayne, we have to earn the respect and trust we threw away. I am not a fan of Hip Hop, but I have heard of Kayne's antics and this fundraiser is not the time or opportunity for nonsense.

Comment by AD on January 22, 2010 at 11:50am: Sure Kanye West is very talented. I always give credit where credit is due BUT he has absolutely no social skills or graces. I agree with Jennie Vega below this is too sensitive a topic to risk Kanye West showing his a**. Also, it is true we should forgive and forget BUT the person being forgiven needs to at least make an attempt to do better the next time. Unfortunately, Kanye West has a pattern of "messing up" and he doesn't show any signs of changing his ways. He would be an embarassment. Further, it's George Clooney's show and he has the absolute right to select the talent he wants to select and it definately has nothing to do with race only attitude. If Kanye West wants to perform to raise money for the people of Haiti he should have his own show. I find it interesting that he hasn't done that yet and always wants to appear on some else's show.

Kanye needs to be banned from anything involving a camera!!! Especially involving a production as delicate as one that will potentially benefit Haiti, I would not take the "business risk" of allowing this guy to go off in a tangent... Kanye is an ego-maniac and he WILL make this whole thing about HIM... Im over Kanye...
