The details of a dramatic 911 call made by Miami Heat star Chris Bosh and his wife after finding their masseuse collapsed in his home last week have been released.

In a recording of the nine-minute call, Mr Bosh tells an operator that 41-year-old Chautele Cooksey’s condition is declining rapidly, turning pale white and drifting in and out of consciousness.

'I need a doctor here at my house,' he says. 'A guest of mine isn’t feeling very well.'

Begging for an ambulance to come to his home, he says that she is having trouble breathing and that she needs care, adding: 'She’s passed out a couple of times'.

He tells the operator that Ms Cooksey has passed out a couple of times but regained consciousness.

'If they could hurry, that would be great,' he pleads.

After a few minutes, Mr Bosh's wife, Adrienne, takes over and begins to express concern at Ms Cooksey's worsening condition.

'I don’t know if she’s stable, we just need someone to come,' she said. 'She’s going in and out and her breathing is shallow.'

The operator instructs them to position the woman, who was laying down with her eyes closed, in the most comfortable position and to remain still.

'She can’t breathe, something weird is going on,' Mrs Bosh says. 'Oh my God … something is happening, I don’t know ... They have to hurry.'

The call goes on for nearly nine minutes. Paramedics arrived as the couple was instructed to begin performing chest compressions on the unconscious woman.

'You can do this,' the operator tells Mrs Bosh.

Neighbors said that the paramedics worked tirelessly on the woman in the street in the hope of reviving her, according to WPLG.

Emergency workers then transported the unconscious woman, who was 41, to Mt. Sinai Hospital in South Florida, where she died on Monday night.

'A beautiful soul was lost tonight,' Mr Bosh's wife wrote on her verified Twitter account early last Tuesday. 'Never take the here and now for granted. Life can be so frail.'

Police said no signs of foul play were found, but Spokeswoman Vivian Hernandez says the department will conduct its standard death investigation.

The untimely death seems to have taken its toll on the Bosh family.

'1 min ur here,The next ur not.Today I Kissed my loved ones a few more times, I held them a little bit tighter, hugged them for a little longer,' Mrs Bosh tweeted the day after Ms Cooksey's passing.

Speaking at the time of her death, Miami Beach police said Ms Cooksey had gone to Mr Bosh's home on Monday and 'appeared to be well and in good spirits' upon arrival.

Police said a friend of the victim said she had survived cancer about a year ago.

A cause of death has not been determined.

The woman's death was first reported by Miami television station WPLG.

Mr Bosh has been sidelined for much of the Heat postseason run because of a strained lower abdominal muscle, though may play on Tuesday night when Miami hosts Boston in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals.

He got hurt late in the first half of Game 1 of the Indiana-Miami second round series on May 13. He did not play in the second half of that game, and in the nine postseason games since, Miami has gone 5-4.

Bosh averaged 18 points and 7.9 rebounds in the regular season.

Ms Cooksey had been helping Mr Bosh recover from his injury, according to NBC.

According to Ms Cooksey's Facebook page, she was a self-employed massage therapist who studied Reiki, a form of stress reduction involving the transfer of energy through palms.

She ran a company called Channels of Light Life Center and spoke of her commitment to her job as well as the 'joy from healing others.'

A 2003 graduate of the Florida College of Natural Health in Bradenton, Florida, she had worked with the Boshs for some time.

'Our hearts go out to her family. We are very sorry for their loss,' Mrs Bosh said in a statement.
