Four men who had intended to jump a pizza delivery guy got more than they had bargained for when the delivery man turned out to be State Sen. Napoleon Harris, a former NFL linebacker.
Harris owns two Beggars Pizza restaurants in the area and had decided to help his employees by stepping in as a driver for a while. “This wasn’t the average 5-foot-9 delivery guy,” his spokesman Sean Howard told CBS of the incident.
The four men attempted to put Harris in a chokehold, but he wasn’t having it.
“They really were trying to choke him to death,” Howard said. But when the men attacked Harris, Howard described the former linebacker as just looking at the attacker “like Hulk Hogan.”
When the men ran from him, Harris chased after them, calling 911 to report their position to police as he followed them in his car.
What’s more, when police arrived and investigated the car the attackers abandoned, they found blood that later proved to be from a missing Georgia man who was found dead.
With Harris’ reports as well as this new evidence in hand, police were able to track down all four suspects.
