Law enforcement personnel are now trying to locate a young man, who was allegedly buggered by another inmate in a cell at the Oracabessa Police Station in St Mary in June.
Speaking in the Senate this morning, Justice Minister Mark Golding said the Victims Support Unit in his ministry had been looking into the case.
However, he said investigators are unable to locate the alleged victim who has absconded bail.
Senator Golding said the young man was facing a charge of breaking and entering at the time of the incident.
The boy's attacker reportedly used a knife to subdue him.
The case, which came to light in July, renewed concerns about minors being held in lockups with adults.
Concern was also raised as to why the alleged victim was put in a jail cell with a man, who was already facing a charge of buggery.
The resident magistrate who uncovered the incident had ordered that an investigation be conducted into the allegations.
Comment
Sadly I don't think that young men will go any were near a police station again in life so that animal is going to get off.
