Politicians in Barbados have been blasted after they gave Rihanna a free piece of land.
The 'Te Amo' singer - who was born on the island - was handed the real estate in the area of Apes Hill, by Minister of Housing and Lands Michael Lashley.
The gift was a thank-you to RiRi for drawing interest to the Caribbean island nation - but the gesture has angered other officials.
Government Minister Gline Clarke has now slammed the gift, as he doesn't think rich celebrities such as Rihanna should be awarded when other Barbadian residents live in poverty.
WENN quotes him as saying: "Why is the government paying millions of dollars for land for someone who's already making millions?"
