Rapper Sentenced To 12 terms of LIFE In Prison After prosecutors used his rap lyrics against him {{VIDEO}}

RONALD RA DIGGS HERRON

Following a pattern that makes a few people uncomfortable, a man accused of three murders in New York City was sentenced to life in prison (plus some), after prosecutors used his rap lyrics against him during trial.

According to Reuters, Ronald “Ra Diggs” Herron, 33, was sentenced to 12 terms of life in prison plus 105 years on Thursday, after a jury in June 2014 found Herron guilty of all 23 charges against him, from racketeering to drug trafficking to gang-related killings between 2001 and 2009.

Prosecutors at the trial used Herron’s “gangsta rap” videos – in which he boasts about belonging to the infamous Bloods street gang, firing weapons and dealing drugs – to argue the lyrics documented his crimes. Herron’s lawyers argued that the lyrics were not autobiographical, but were commentary on crime, violence and drug wars in the inner city.

Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch in a statement Thursday said the life sentence would put an end to the “brutal, unrelenting violence” that Herron unleashed.

“Herron styled himself a rap artist, but the evidence proved that he was a murderous thug who sought power through violence, fear and intimidation,” she said.

During sentencing,  Herron reportedly told the courtroom, “You guys sit here and continue to paint this picture that I’m the devil incarnate, the scourge of righteousness — it’s all crap…You can sentence me to 10 life sentences, but I am only going to die one time. God have mercy on all of us.”

I've seen this time and time again. Grew up in the hood until age 11 then moved on up like the Jeffersons into a house that was bigger than those where white kids who refused to talk to me lived. Problem is, up until the 80's, most of our black stars had to sing, dance, act and be college educated in order to play the pimp/prostitute/thug roles they were given. This FED the main problem with my generation and all that came later...STREET CRED. I was not accepted by the hood because I always went to good schools. Too many of our black kids think it is uncool to aspire to better things. And you know what the most messed up part is? In my teens, do you know which of my "peoples" got killed first, jailed first and the longest, pregnant first? It was the ones with one foot in church and one foot in the streets. Too soft to truly hang and not quite gully enought to be dog-hearted, but too hard to just go to church and school and hang in the library. Idiots.

So even if this dude never hurt a fly, he made his name and money off of REAL KILLING AND REAL THUGGERY. One thing this world teaches is nothing in life is free. He's got to pay back the universe in twisted karma for all the glory he took from s*** that negatively affects us. Tired of this "I was just doing street poetry" bs excuse. Write a frigging book and teach the kids at the Boys and Girls Club to do the same thing. Fool. In life, you don't get what you deserve, you get what you sign up for. Had a chance to be a black man but he chose niggerdom and now him wan bawl. GTFOH. How many drive-bys have been/will be committed with his music playing in the background? You gotta pay to play, son. His poor mother... #waste

GREAT TRACK, TELLING YOU HOW THINGS ARE ALL OVER THE WORLD RIGHT NOW.

STOP THE FEAR AND FEED THE POOR. SO WHAT HAPPENED TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH?

the lyrics were not autobiographical, but were commentary on crime, violence and drug wars in the inner city.

SO WERE'S EVIDENCE, SHOW US THE PROOF ?

Thats F***** up niggaz been rapping and talking that s*** since the beginning this dude was just trying to make it. He might have done some s*** but his sentence is ridiculous what about these f*** ass cops who don't even get indicted. This is my opinion stay out the streets stay in your lane and s*** will be cool. If you in that life you get what you get. But this is just crazy.

Rappers seem to perpetuate the life of crime and violence! Most rappers have been arrested for illegal guns and drugs! Look at Suge Knight, Lil Wayne, Busta Rhimes, and even TI.

DJ reasonable doubt is to protect the innocent from prosecution. The central park 5 shows you how people can get railroaded into the system. Not saying there aren't bad guys out there but this case just seems flimsy to me. The courts are supposed to error on the side of presumed innocents.

That's good for his assssss. Send him up the river.dont think for a minute that he is innocent. I can't wait to become a judge..send all these white if black worthless fools up the river..

There should be some specific evidence to his crimes unless he named names in the songs which I doubt. Any jury convicting people over lyrics is crazy and leaves room for reasonable doubt.
