Queens councilman, Ruben Wills was arrested Wednesday on charges of stealing $30,500 in government money, and using some of it for shopping trips to Nordstrom and Century 21 and the purchase of a $750 Vuitton bag at Macy’s. His charges included scheming to defraud, grand larceny and falsifying business records. A relative, Jelani Mills, of St. Albans, Queens, also was charged. Former state Sen. Shirley Huntley, for whom Wills once worked as chief of staff also had a role in Wednesday’s charges. Huntley steered a $33,000 legislative appropriation known as a “member item” to a charity Wills controlled, New York 4 Life, which had vowed to use the money to attack childhood obesity, help single dads and moms, and revitalize neighborhoods. Huntley has been convicted and sentenced to a year behind bars on unrelated charges of stealing $88,000 from a separate taxpayer-funded charity she controlled.

These guys keep getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Jessie Jackson Jr, Tony Mack the mayor of Trenton NJ & another mayor was recently indicted for the same thing as Mack. Both those cases were FBI stings. They know a lot of these politicians are unethical & they set these guys up. This guy Wills is beyond unethical, using a charity for kids, single mothers & fixing the neighborhood is downright disgusting & he should have the book thrown @ him along with some fists.

I dont understand why black people take these chances, knowing that we are constantly under the microscope. That is assuming he did what they say he did, because he looks like a smart guy to me.

There is no excuse for this act.  He needs to be punished accordingly as prescribed by the law.  Of course, the lame law excuses is "Innocent until proving guilty"; but send his case through the courts and if found guilty, pay the dues back to the tax payers and the people of Queens, New York.  What a shame.
