Prime Minister Scolds Gay-Rights Protestors During Address in New York

Gay-rights protestors yesterday invoked the wrath of Jamaica’s Prime Minister after they interrupted her keynote address at the launch of the 6th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference in New York, United States.

According to the Gleaner, protestors demanded the Prime Minister to do more for gays as she defended Jamaica’s record of protecting the rights of homosexuals.

The Prime Minister verbally expressed her displeasure with the disruption and stated:

“Nobody never hears the Government of Jamaica beating up gays; not one. Let me tell you something; you want to disturb, you can disturb, but this woman come here with the blood of Nanny of the Maroons and the spirit of Marcus Mosiah Garvey, and this woman is not afraid of no man, nowhere, anywhere, and I will speak the truth everywhere”.

The Prime Minister as also stressed that the People’s National Party is unlike the previous administration of Bruce Golding, who famously said he would not allow gays to serve in his Cabinet.

Jamaica respects the human rights of all its citizens, including gays the Prime Minister also said.

...well, I must say it's good to hear the PM invoking the names of the Great Nanny and Marcus Mosiah Garvey, whom we liken to John The Baptist...only wish she would do it more from her Office and in the Jamaica House of Parliament, so that the politicians from all parties would do their earnest to uplift the status of the citizens of Jamaica whom they represent instead of uplifting their own interests and personas, to the end that the isle is plagued with crime and violence, ignorance and greed despite Jamaica's natural beauty and special place in history...

Kudos, Thank God she stood up. Gays are the bullies, they never fight for anything but their own slackness.
