''Precious'' Wins Big At NAACP Image Awards (Full List Of Winners And Pics Inside)

It was a 'Precious' night at the NAACP Image Awards on Friday, where the film scored six trophies out of eight in the motion picture category.
"Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire" scooped up prizes for best motion picture and best independent feature. Gabourey Sidibe topped Sandra Bullock for best actress, and in the supporting actress category Mo'Nique trumped co-stars Mariah Carey and Paula Patton for the kudo. Precious writer, Geoffrey Fletcher, and director, Lee Daniels, took their turn at the podium as well for their work on the film.

.Rounding out for film, Morgan Freeman picked up the outstanding actor award for "Invictus" and the doc category went to "Good Hair."

In the television category, TBS won big with their comedy "Tyler Perry's House of Payne," besting competish for outstanding comedy series and bringing in wins for Cassi Davis (best actress, comedy) and Keshia Knight Pulliam (best supporting actress, comedy). Meanwhile TNT dominated the best acting categories in drama, collecting wins for Cuba Gooding Jr. (best actor, drama) and Kimberly Elise, (best actress, drama) for work on the show "Gifted Hands." And NBC's "Law & Order" rounded out the supporting actors category with wins for Delroy Lindo (best supporting actor) and S. Epatha Merkson (best supporting actress).

At one point in during the event, things got political. Michael Jackson's memorial, which aired on AMC, BET, CNN, MTV and NBC bested President Obama's Inaugural Celebration (HBO) but the president won in the news/information category by popular vote, scoring the prize for his BET televised Inauguration.
