The 47-year-old ‘Hot in Herre’ rapper has since issued a profound apology to the woman and her family. He told TMZ, “I sincerely apologize to the young lady and her family, this is unwanted publicity for her/them. This was…private and never meant to go public.” He also added that the clip was old.
This comes just about a month after Nelly made some critical remarks about Madonna’s recent video on social media where she paraded in lingerie. In response to Madonna’s video, the rapper is quoted saying, “some things should be covered up.”
Nonetheless, the clip which lasted for less than a minute was caught by many users who even commented on his anatomy and the sounds that he made in the clip. An IG user even posted a picture of Drake on a smartphone, apparently scrolling, with the captions, ‘Me scrolling Twitter looking for this Nelly video yall talking about.’ Many other users took their own swipes at Nelly before the clip was taken down.
Nelly whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., made his debut on the music scene in 2000, and has since had many hit songs, and done a number of collaborations with many accomplished artistes, which enabled him to amass a total of four Grammy Awards over the span of his musical career.
At this time, representatives of the American rapper are concerned that his IG account might have been hacked and his personal and other sensitive data may be compromised, including passwords and financial documents which they fear may be leaked to the internet.
