Murder toll in TRINIDAD now 108 with 2 more murders for the year, WOW!

The murder toll climbed to 108 yesterday as two more people were killed in separate incidents. The victims have been identified as Maurice Graham, 60, of Diamond Valle, Diego Martin, and Hayden Adams, 53, of Laventille Road, Laventille. Police are working on the theory that Graham was beaten to death early yesterday in what they suspect was a dispute over property. Graham’s corpse was discovered in a house at Covigne Road, Diego Martin, around 10.30 am.

Police said he was the owner of another house at Covigne Road.
It was reported Graham went to check on the house at Covigne Road around 9.30 am. A neighbour told police after calling out to him several times he got no response and decided to go into the house. He said he then discovered Graham’s body lying in a pool of blood.

A team of Western Division officers, headed by acting ASP Henry Dann, and including Sgts Lawrence, Prescott and Cpls Vincent and Arneaud, visited the scene and interviewed several people. Besson Street Police also were probing Adam’s murder. He was killed near his home. Investigators said Adams was standing outside his front gate when a gunman walked up to him and shot him several times. Up to late yesterday a motive for that killing was not established. (GK)
