A teacher who was discovered in bed with one of her pupils on prom night has been pictured.
A hearing heard that a sixth-year student returned to his Travelodge room after prom night at Whitburn Academy in West Lothian to find Isabelle Graham in bed with a 17-year-old pupil.
Mrs Graham denied the charges and claims to have no recollection of anything past 10.30pm on the night in question. She said she had drunk four glasses of wine.
The General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) accused Mrs Graham of heading back to the hotel following the prom night, which was hosted at an upmarket Edinburgh hotel, in June 2014.
Mrs Graham was allegedly alone with the teenager for three hours, during which they drank, shared a bed and ‘repeatedly engaged in sexual activity’.
According to council employee Fraser Thomson, who was investigating the case, a probe was launched when senior teaching staff were made aware of the existence of a photo on social media.
Thomson said a photo showed ‘Pupil A and Mrs Graham lying on the bed, one on top of the covers and one underneath the covers’.
The GTCS found all charges against Mrs Graham proved. It will now decide on its sanction.
