Tupac Shakur Nominated For The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Meet The Man Playing Tupac Shakur In The Upcoming Biopic, 'All Eyez On Me' {PICS}

The nominees for induction next year into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were announced Tuesday, October 18, and Tupac Shakur was selected in his first year of eligibility.

It would be hard to imagine Shakur not being inducted, given his list of classic albums released before and after his September 1996 murder in Las Vegas at the age of 25.

Shakur's musical legacy began in 1991 with his debut album titled "2Pacalypse Now."He would follow that up with "Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z.," "Me Against the World," "All Eyez on Me," "The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory" and many more.

According to the Associated Press, the other nominees for the 2017 class are Chic, Chaka Khan, Pearl Jam, the J. Geils Band, Journey, Janet Jackson, Joe Tex, Kraftwerk, MC5, The Cars, the Zombies, Yes, Bad Brains, Depeche Mode; Electric Light Orchestra, Jane's Addiction; Joan Baez and Steppenwolf.

More than 800 artists, historians and music-industry officials will vote to decide who gets in. Fans will also be allowed to vote online.

The induction ceremony will take place in December at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, New York. HBO will later televise the event.

Inductees will officially be enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame museum in Cleveland next April.

Man Confesses To Being Paid By Jimmy Henchmen To Shoot 2Pac in 1994

Nineteen years after one of the most influential and charismatic rappers in history was taken from us, a movie about his life and death is finally being made.

Production on the Tupac Shakur biopic titled "All Eyez On Me" began earlier this week in Atlanta. The man who has been cast to play the music icon is Demetrius Shipp, Jr.

Demetrius, who has no previous acting experience, was cast by producer L.T. Hutton. Since accepting the role of a lifetime, he has been taking acting classes 4 times a week. He was selected largely in part because of his remarkable resemblance to Shakur, according to TMZ.

The Morgan Creek Productions flick is being directed by Benny Boom.

NFL player Desean Jackson will also serve as a producer.

"Been a long Process but I'm proud to announce Its finally that time to present the Tupac Movie !! Shoutout to my Big bro @lthutton We breaking records with this one !! History in the making .. A man has admitted to shooting rap star Tupac Shakur in 1994 after allegedly being paid $2,500 dollars by James "Jimmy Henchman" Rosemond inside Manhattan's Quad Studios in November of 1994.

Dexter Isaac, a former friend of Rosemond, is an inmate currently serving life in prison for murder, robbery and other offenses.

Isaac came forward Wednesday (June 15th) with the information on the eve of what would be Tupac's 40th birthday.

He confessed to his involvement in the November 30th, 1994 shooting of Tupac Shakur to, after Jimmy Henchman identified him in a statement, relating to Henchman's indictment for dealing numerous kilos of cocaine.

"I want to apologize to his family [Tupac Shakur] and for the mistake I did for that sucker [Jimmy Henchman]," Dexter Isaac told from prison. "I am trying to clean it up to give [Tupac and Biggie's] mothers some closure."

Henchman, who is currently on the run from Federal officials, claimed that Dexter Isaac, along with other incarcerated inmates were cooperating with the government in an investigation of his alleged drug dealing activities.

"If the government is relying on informants like Winston “Winnie” Harris, a convicted drug dealer and Jamaican deportee, who came to me and motioned via hand signal that he was forced to wear a wire and begged me to skip town or Dexter Isaac who is serving life in prison plus 30 years, then I’m sure I will not be offered a fair trial," Henchman said in a statement released to in May of 2011.

Dexter Isaac told that he decided to confess to the robberies to prove Jimmy Henchman's involvement, in addition to clearing his conscious for the shooting.

Isaac said he was comfortable going on record relating to the robbery and shooting, since the statute of limitations had expired. Legally, no one can be prosecuted for the assault at this time.

Isaac was a lifelong friend of Jimmy Henchmen, who helped the former mogul set up his first company, Henchman Entertainment, in 1989.

Isaac claims he never cooperated with the government in any investigation, and Jimmy Henchman's allegations infuriated him.

Isaac, who is also from Brooklyn, has long been suspected of being involved in the Quad shooting of Tupac Shakur, along with an associate name Spencer "Scooter" Bowens, who is also serving a life sentence.

According to the confession below, Dexter Isaac not only knows what happened to Tupac Shakur's jewelry, but he claims he is also in possession of the Hip-Hop star's chain that was taken during the altercation on that infamous night on November 7, 1994.

The shooting on November 30th, was the start of a deadly feud that resulted in the murders of both Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.

Their murders have never been solved.

Isaac was indicted by the government in 1998 and was subsequently sentenced to life in prison for murder, robbery, fraud and witness intimidation charges.

[Editor's Note: His entire admission involving his role in the Tupac Shakur shooting in 1994 is listed below, along with his contact information for verification purposes.]

@ Islandgirl

he is talking about the shooting (that tupac survived) where he claimed that Biggie 'set him up' to be robbed. See the movie Notorious (actually not a bad movie)

why are our people so stupid and easily used? this man is happily doing life +30  but is willing to confess to a crime he has kept secret for almost 20 years rather than have anyone percieve him as a snitch.

someone needs to tell him that he is not a good soldier he is a pawn. people stage rescue missions to save good soldiers, pawns on the other hand are expendaple and replaceable.

I believe the confession, it's too detailed and this man, even though he is behind bars

is pointing fingers which puts his own life in danger....I hope he writes both the mothers' of Tupac and Biggie and lets them know what he knows, just in case someone pays for him to be silenced forever.....he owes them that...he calls himself a soldier, but only cowards ambush...

Cowards die many times before their deaths, the valiant never taste of death but once...

Nuff Respect Tupac, you definitely were no coward!!

I am sure Pac will be waiting for him on the other side.....

Yes he is only confessing to shooting him but on that night he could have killed him and it really is disgusting to know that the human life has been labeled with a price tag. Back in the day if I didnt like you or vice versa we went to the block or to the PSAL and threw on the gloves and handled our business and it was over, we would fight in the street or at the center and we might even have become friends after that but now cowards are not even man enough to handle their own s*** they need someone else with real balls to handle it for them. Then they go and gt a punk that stands behind a trigger and not man enough to knuckle up.
