A Texas man who dragged his helpless German Shepherd behind his motorized wheelchair has been arrested and faces an animal cruelty charge.

A woman confronted Mario Cardona, 59, as she noticed him while driving through a neighborhood in Mission.

She shot VIEO of the shocking act, uploaded it to Facebook and called the police.

The man can be heard yelling: 'It's my dog.' The female German Shepherd's name is G2.

A Texas man who dragged his helpless German Shepherd behind his motorized wheelchair has been arrested and faces an animal cruelty charge.

A woman confronted Cardona as she noticed him while driving through a neighborhood. She shot video of the shocking act and said she would call the police, which she did. The man can be heard yelling: 'It's my dog'

The female German Shepherd's name is G2. She has been taken to an animal shelter. Cardona was arrested and faces animal cruelty charges

The woman told WTSP: 'A lot of people told me I should've cut the dog's leash, I should've taken the dog, push him off his wheelchair.

'I wanted to do all those things, but I had to think with my mind and not my emotions.' 

Cardona was arrested and G2 has since been taken to an animal shelter.
