Man accused of raping 80 year old mother shot dead (We've heard plenty but never a man raping his MOTHER who is 80 years old)

SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — A 40-year-old man who was wanted by the police after he allegedly sexually abused his 80-odd-year-old mother, was reportedly shot and killed at his home at Top Hill, St Elizabeth early yesterday.

The Junction Police say that in the "wee hours" of the morning, three police officers attached to the station went to the house of Rodney Joseph, who was accused of regularly sexually assaulting and beating his mother.

The police say they tried to convince Joseph to exit the house and leave peacefully with them but instead he issued threats.

It's alleged that Joseph subsequently rushed from inside the house with a knife in his hand and stabbed at a policeman who had to jump backwards to avoid injury.

A colleague reportedly fired three shots at the knife-wielding man hitting him in the shoulder and side. Joseph was rushed to the Black River Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Joseph on October 24, 2010 at 11:46pm: obviously this man had some kind of mental issues it could've been a range of any thing from bipolar manic depressive to schizophrenia. and im sure his mother and family knew that he may have been ill for years. & probably did nothing about it. however to rape any one man, woman, or child is wrong. he however did take the cowardly way out (if he was normal) by doing a Suicide by cop move. which is basically this he knew he was caught and if you attack a cop they must do what they can to stop the threat so most people attack the cops so that the cops will shoot them dead. freakn coward.
