Liquid placed 5th place after being knocked out by Luminosity Gaming

Liquid has signed the amateur team The Life of Hanzo, in April of 2016, during one of the final weeks of the Overwatch closed beta. Their Canadian player, AZK is somewhat infamous for his involvement in the CSGO team, iBuyPower’s matchfixing scandal, where AZK and his teammates where banned from the competitive CSGO scene.

An event where the only IBP player who did not receive a ban was current Cloud 9 CSGO player Skadoodle, who refused to take part in the profit share from the throwing of the cheap csgo skins match. Team Liquid in Overwatch has yet to really make a big splash. At the latest sizable Overwatch tournament, Overkill, Liquid placed 5th place after being knocked out by Luminosity Gaming and Cloud 9 in the group stages.

From recent interviews they like using Pharah, Tracer, and Widowmaker in their compositions to put out damage. They’ve also mentioned an aversion to playing Winson, but understand his role in the game to break up stacked compositions. Dorado is their strongest map due to ability to flank on attacks, while Hollywood is their weakest map due to their weaknesses in transitioning as a team against certain compositions.
