Kim Kardashian recently spoke at length about the challenge of being married to Kanye West, calling their relationship “beautiful” but broken.
Speaking Monday (May 22) on Jay Shetty’s podcast “On Purpose,” the reality show maven explained that she can’t “help” people who don’t “want” it.
“You can’t force your beliefs and project that on someone that thinks something totally different,” the reality star said. She clarified that it’s “ok to have” conflicting opinions, because that’s how “the world goes ’round,” but encouraged listeners that with relationships, it’s vital to “align in the same values and morals and things at your core.”
“The Kardashians” star explained: “It’s ok to realize that this life is so short, and you should go and find the people that do align with what you really believe in.
“You can’t really force things upon other people. You can’t expect them to be where you’re at [and] at your level.
The 42-year-old said she teaches that lesson to her children with 45-year-old West: North, 9, Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4, as they look “for friends and partners and relationships” themselves.
Kim and Kanye’s 7-year marriage ended in 2021, and included Kanye’s failed run for president, and recent controversy surrounding his view of Jews and Hitler. West is now reportedly married to his Yeezy employee Bianca Censori.
“If they don’t know the things that are being said or what’s happening in the world, why would I ever bring that energy to them?” the Skims founder told Angie Martinez in December 2022. “That’s really heavy grown-up s–t that they’re not ready to deal with.”
