Kanye West Hits Lloyds Of London With 10 Million Lawsuit For Failure To Pay Cancelled Saint Pablo Tour Insurance Money

Earlier this month Kanye West's company, Very Good Touring, sued Lloyds of London for $9.8 million, accusing the insurance company of failing to honor it's agreement to cover money lost on his cancelled 2016 "Saint Pablo Tour."

West pulled the plug on the rest of the trek after suffering a mental breakdown in November. He subsequently spent eight days at UCLA Medical Center.

TMZ reports that Lloyds has filed a countersuit.

In court documents the company claims prescription and illegal drug use were the cause of West's breakdown, which triggered a clause in the policy referring to substance abuse.

In addition, Lloyds says West refused to turn over information it needed to make a determination on whether or not to cover financial losses from the cancelled dates.

Lloyds is asking a judge to rule that it doesn't owe West any money.

West's attorney, Howard King, responded to the countersuit by telling TMZ that it "is the same generic response Lloyd's files when they don't want to honor a legitimate claim but can't find a factual basis to deny the claim."

Public Enemies: JAY-Z vs Kanye (Documentary Trailer)

Kanye West is looking to recoup money lost when he had to cancel dates on his 2016 Saint Pablo Tour.

The rapper's company, Very Good Touring, has filed a $9.8 millionlawsuit against Lloyds of London for failing to cover the funds lost on the crossed out dates.

TMZ reports that VTG claims in court documents that it had an insurance policy with Lloyds to cover cancellation or non-appearance fees.

But Lloyds is balking at paying. They blame West's alleged marijuana use for the cancelled dates.

Very Good Touring says Lloyds has no proof to back up their accusation and is just looking for "any ostensible excuse no matter how fanciful" to deny payment on the policy.

West had to cancel tour dates after having a mental breakdown in November. He spent eight days at UCLA Medical Center.

“One is a New York street dude,” says DJ Clark Kent in a clip from the documentary. “The other dude is a mama’s boy from Chicago.”

Kanye West Is Fully Recovered From Breakdown. Will Resume Touring In 2018

He was dissed by former pal Jay-Z on his new album 4:44 after he implied that he offered him a giant loan. 

And 'unhappy' Kanye West has now cut ties with Tidal - after he helped launch the company in 2015 alongside the likes of Rihanna and Calvin Harris - as reported by TMZ.
The rapper, 40, is said to be 'owed more more than $3 million' from the music streaming site - with his lawyers sending a letter to the company telling them they were 'in breach and the contact was terminated.'

The publication also revealed that Kanye's lawyers sent another letter two weeks after the first one after the conflict failed to be resolved. 

The issues stemmed after Kanye's Saint Pablo album brought in more than 1 million new subscribers to Tidal - which he was supposed to receive a bonus for. 

The company also reportedly went back on their promise of reimbursing him for music videos - but Tidal stated that he 'didn't deliver the videos required by contract.'

Tidal have since sent a letter back, stating they 'still have an exclusive contract with Kanye and if he goes to another streaming service they'd sue him.'

This follows on from reports that the half of Kim Kardashian 'had no advance knowledge' over the information leaked on Jay-Z's new track Kill Jay-Z - which dropped on Thursday night.  

In his lyrics, the 47-year-old Brooklyn, New York native seems to mention very explicitly the giant loan that the super producer offered up to Kanye apparently confirming the rumor.

'You dropped outta school, you lost your principles / You gave him 20 million without thinkin',' raps the husband of Beyonce, 'he gave you 20 minutes on stage, f**k was he thinkin'?' 

The Empire State of Mind hitmaker also mentioned Kanye's 2004 studio album The College Dropout in the same song.

It seems the Kanye references also referred to the feud between the two, which reportedly flowered when Jay-Z failed to reach out to Kanye when his wife Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint back in October.

During a concert in Sacramento on November 19, Kanye stopped to rant about his relationship with the music mogul.

'Jay Z — call me, bruh,' he pleaded, adding 'you still ain't called me. Jay Z, I know you got killers. Please don't send them at my head.'

After Jay-Z, Kanye went after Beyonce, and once again brought up the time he interrupted Taylor Swift on her behalf at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

The Gold Digger singer stood up at the awards show to share that he thought Beyonce deserved the Video of the Year gong over Swift.

'Beyoncé, I was hurt. I went down seven years on behalf of you,' railed the temperamental star during his concert. 'I am putting my career, my life, my public standing at risk when I talk to y'all like this. This is a moment in the matrix, bro. Beyoncé, I was hurt because I hear that you said you wouldn't perform unless you won Video of the Year over me and over Hotline Bling'.

Though there was obviously some bad blood, Kanye, Jay-Z and Beyonce have reportedly repaired their relationship since the feud.

Kanye West is in good health and spirits following a 2016 breakdown, and plans to resume touring in 2018.

He's also working on a new album.

TMZ reports that there is no definitive date for the start of the tour or release of the album, because deadlines cause the G.O.O.D. Music CEOstress. Something everyone in his camp wants to avoid.

According to TMZ, West is back to his old self. He's focused, engaged and isn't displaying any of the symptoms that required him to be hospitalized.

Concert promoting giant, Live Nation, is in talks with West about tour dates and a source within the company tells TMZ, "We're ready to jump as soon as he gives the green light."

Kanye West sat down with Vanity Fair to talk about Yeezy Season 2, his new collection of clothing line, 2020 presidential run, lessons he’s learned in design, his long-awaited new album SWISH, ‘Fade’ song featuring Ty Dolla Sign and Post Malone and more.

Yeezy says that he's definitely running for President in 2020 as he announced at the MTV VMAs last month. He also mentions that he’s not worried about the years it could take him to release his forthcoming album.

VF: Sounds like a presidential stump speech to me. Are you still thinking of running in 2020?

Kanye: Oh, definitely.

When you said that at the V.M.A.s, I thought the reaction was surprising. People didn’t seem to dismiss the idea. You would have thought there would be more of an outcry.

Especially from the six years of this misconception or the six years I went through of “We don’t like Kanye.” And then as soon as I said that, it was like, “Wait a second, we would really be into that, because actually if you think about it, he’s extremely thoughtful. Every time he’s ever gotten in trouble, he was really jumping in front of a bullet for someone else. He’s probably the most honest celebrity that we have.” I didn’t approach that because I thought it would be fun. It wasn’t like, Oh, let’s go rent some jet skis in Hawaii. No, the exact opposite. I sit in clubs and I’m like, Wow, I’ve got five years before I go and run for office and I’ve got a lot of research to do, I’ve got a lot of growing up to do. My dad has two masters degrees. My mom has a PhD, she used to work at Operation PUSH. Somehow the more and more creative I get, the closer and closer I get to who I was as a child. When I was a child, I was holding my mom’s hand at Operation PUSH. I think it’s time. Rap is great.

It’s fun. It’s fun to be a rock star, and I’ll never not be one I guess, but there’ll be a point where I become my mother’s child. With all the things I’ve done that people would consider to be accomplishments, what’s the point where I become the person that Donda and Raymond West raised? My parents’ child.

I know we’re here to talk about the fashion, but people are just a little bit interested in the album. It could be another year?

I’m not sure. I’m not worried about the years. I’m worried about the life and the body of work that I can put out while I’m breathing.

Then you’ve got to keep swimming. Is the album still called Swish?

It’s currently called Swish. I’m forgetting even what the last name of it was now.

In terms of the soundtrack, was there a reason you chose that particular song, “Fade”?

We had a couple options and I just thought it sounded good against the people. For the 40 theaters across the globe, for the kids that all went to see it in theaters, I thought they’d be happy to hear some new music. I’ve been doing that [making a new album] too. That’s like a sonic landscape, a two-year painting. That song I played has been a year and a half in the making and it may be still a year from being complete. But it was to let people get a glimpse at the painting.

How do you juggle designing a collection with everything else you have going on?

It’s family first. And then when I work on music, I’ll sequester myself and work on it with a team of three, four, or five really focused experts for two weeks at a time. And then with apparel, the office is right across from my house, so I go to the office every day.

Kanye West Says His Mom “Would Still Be Alive” If He Didn’t Move to L.A.

Kanye West's mom, Donda West, died in November 2007, after what was supposed to be routine cosmetic procedures performed by Dr. Jan Adams.

Critics accused the doctor of performing too many procedures on the same day. Donda underwent surgery for a tummy tuck, liposuction and breast augmentation.

Adams has been universally blamed for the tragedy. He's now speaking out in an attempt to clear his name.

"Kanye West can end this by telling the truth. The doctor had nothing to do with his mom's death," Adams told Inside Edition. "Donda West survived the surgery very well...she was at home."

Adams added that Donda was in good physical health at the time of the surgeries. He lays the blame for her passing at the feet of Kanye's cousin, Stephan Scoggins, a nurse who took care of Ms. West at home against the doctor's wishes.

"Her nurse wasn't there," Adams continued. "Her nurse was gone to a baby shower, rather than taking care of his aunt.

Donda was left lying on her back causing her to choke to death. She was also given 20 Vicodin tablets by her family, which Adams believes contributed to her passing.

"This lady shouldn't be dead. All you had to do was sit her up. And every nurse on the planet knows that," Adams said. "My point to Kanye is, tell what he knows. Point the finger at who the coroner pointed at. The truth when you bury it just grows bigger."

Kanye spent around 40 minutes at the party chilling with other celebs before Amber arrived. Sources say the G.O.O.D. Music rapper went from zero to 100 really quick and quickly scout out her location and bolt in the opposite direction.

Earlier this year, Amber Rose and Kanye West were locked in a heated feud after the rapper dissed the blonde bombshell during his The Breakfast Club interview.

“It’s very hard for a woman to you know… want to be with someone that’s with Amber Rose. I had to take 30 showers before I got with Kim,” Kanye said.

That didn’t go down too well with Amber Rose who immediate took to Twitter to diss Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian.

“Wait 30 showers? But Kim let RayJ nut on her…. Never mind,” Rose wrote.

Perhaps Kanye West just didn’t want to see any photos pop up online of him near Amber Rose.

Kanye West Breaks Down & Cries During Zane Lowe Interview, Says "Exclusivity Is The New N-Word." Talks New Album, Paul McCartney, Advice for Drake (Video)

Kanye West pulled another strange move earlier this week during a taping of The Jonathan Ross Show on Tuesday, February 24th.

The rapper performed "Only One," while lying on his back, similar to his performance recently on Saturday Night Live.

However, when he was finished he refused to get up for a conversation as is customary on the British talk show. Ross attempted to joke with West by getting down on the floor and asking him to spoon like he would with his wife, Kim Kardashian.

"If you want to spoon I don’t mind," Ross said. "It’s not as big as Kim’s but it’s all yours."

It didn't work because West never said a word. Instead he stood up and left the set in complete silence.
