JetBlue Airways Corp. plans to start nonstop service once a day to Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, from John F. Kennedy International Airport, as well as nonstop flights between JFK and Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport in Savannah, Ga.
The New York-based carrier will launch twice daily nonstop flights to Savannah, JetBlue’s 83rd city, beginning Feb. 13. Flights are currently selling at a starting rate of $79 for one-way for travel between Feb. 13 and March 31.
Meanwhile, the daily nonstop flights between JFK and Piarco International Airport in Port of Spain is set to begin Feb. 24. Additional service from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood, Fla. will begin on May 1, with one flight a day. The flights are still subject to receipt of government approval, and will be available for purchase in the coming weeks, JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) said.
The airline said destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean now make up almost one-third of JetBlue's route network. In the Caribbean, JetBlue offers more flights than any other carrier in both Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. The airline also will begin service to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, this winter, subject to government approval. JetBlue currently flies to 13 countries outside the United States, including Aruba, Barbados and The Bahamas.
"The largest population of Trinidadians in the U.S. live in New York and Florida,” a company spokesperson said in a release. “Our new service will provide customers with an inexpensive option for travel to Port of Spain, whether traveling for vacation or to visit friends and family.”
JetBlue's flights from New York and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood to Port of Spain will be operated with its Airbus A320 fleet with seating for 150 passengers. Service from Savannah will be operated with its 100-seat Embraer E190 fleet.

This is good caribbean airline need some competition their prices are too high now.....
Ben Hall I once sleep in Piarco International Airport very uncomfortable.
Their should hop over to Tobago that would be great.
As long as you're not carrying a Trinidadian passport and you don't hold Diplomatic status, you are automatically dis-criminated against by the people at BW/CAL. Jamaicans are not the only people who hate that carrier, all other Caribbean travel conscious persons do. I can tell you of the many Guianese persons and others too, who were unceremoniously bumped without just cause from BWIA and now CAL, made to sleep in the Piarco terminal, without explanation. Welcome to town JET BLUE.
