Jamaica Defence Force soldier abducted

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) is reporting that one of its soldiers has been abducted. He has been identified as 27-year-old private Davir Marston. According to the JDF Headquarters, Private Marston was at home Wednesday evening, when he was called out by a man. He left and did not return. A report was subsequently made to the police and the JDF. In a statement, the JDF says it does not think the abduction has anything to do with Thursday's General Election and is pursuing strong leads to have him returned safely. The JDF added that it is vigorously pursuing the perpetrators and is making every effort to have Private Marston returned to his family safely. It is asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the JDF Headquarters at 960-8776; the Hunts Bay Police at 923-7111; the Police 119 emergency number, or the nearest Police station.
