  • Smollett gave an interview to ABC's Robin Roberts that will air on Thursday
  • In a brief promo video for the interview, he welled up after being asked if he feared for his life
  • The actor was walking home from a Subway on January 29 when he was attacked
  • It was 2am when the attackers beat him, poured bleach on him and put a noose around his neck
  • He arrived home and his friend, Frank Gatson, 60, insisted they call the police
  • Since then, no footage of the incident has been found and police have no leads
  • They have also been at odds with the star over his cooperation with their probe
  • Smollett did not hand over his phone records to prove that he was on a call to his manager at the time of the attack for two weeks
  • The records he supplied were redacted and police described them as 'insufficient'

Jussie Smollett breaks down in tears in his first interview about the racist, homophobic attack he endured last month in Chicago

Chicago Police Department launched a frantic hunt for his attackers who he said shouted 'This is MAGA country!' after punching his ribs, pouring bleach on him and tying a noose around his necks.

In the weeks that followed, details of the incident have been picked over forensically.

Despite finding video of Smollett before and after the attack, police have not been able to uncover any surveillance footage of the actual incident and they have not been able to identify the suspects.

They released an initial image of two men walking near Smollett on the night of the incident at around the same time but that led to nothing.

Smollett, 36, has not yet gone on camera to answer questions about the attack

They have also pointed out repeatedly that Smollett did not immediately turn over his phone records or his phone to prove that he was on a call with his manager, Brandon Z. Moore, when the attack took place as claimed.

It carries special significance because Moore claims to have heard the attackers calling Smollett 'Empire f****t n****r' and shouting: 'This is MAGA country!'

Within the first few days of the attack, he gave an interview to Variety saying he had heard the slurs but he has not spoken about it since.

On Monday, Smollett finally did hand over his records but they were redacted.

Chicago Police Department described them as 'insufficient proof' of the call.

The actor angrily responded that via a representative that he was never told as much and that they were redacted to protect 'personal contacts or high-profile individuals not relevant to the attack.'

In a statement to the DailyMail on Tuesday night, a spokesman for the actor said: 'Jussie is the victim here, which has been stated by the Superintendent of Police.

'Jussie has voluntarily provided his phone records from within an hour of the attack and given multiple statements to police. Chicago PD has repeatedly informed us that they find Jussie's account of what happened that night consistent and credible. Superintendent Johnson has been clear from day one that Jussie is a victim.

Jussie Smollett breaks silence; 'Empire' actor addresses Chicago attack for 1st time
Jussie Smollet Seen - 1st Time Since 'Attack' - He Healed FAST!!

Empire actor Jussie Smollet was seen out last night, for the first time since being "attacked" in Chicago less than a week ago - and all his bruises seem to have healed.

The actor told Chicago police that he was racially attacked by a group of Donald Trump supporters - who tied a noose around his neck and used gay slurs towards Jussie. Jussie then release a photo, showing a bruised up face.

But the police have been unable to corroborate Jussie's story, and have no suspects in the case.

Jussie has been facing criticism from members of the media that find his story - of being attacked at 2AM when it was -25 degrees outside- incredible.

Now Jussie is going to face even more criticism. He was spotted out yesterday, and he had almost no bruising at all on his face.

"I'm not fully healed yet," he said. "But I'm going to (be), and I'm gonna stand strong with y'all."

While this is his first public appearance since the attack, this is not the first time he has spoken out. In a statement first published by Essence on Friday, Smollett said his attack wasn't an isolated incident.

"These types of cowardly attacks are happening to my sisters, brothers and non-gender conforming siblings daily," he said in the statement.

"During times of trauma, grief and pain, there is still a responsibility to lead with love. It's all I know," he said.

Police release first photos of persons of interest wanted for questioning in Jussie Smollett attack

In a statement, the "Empire" actor told fans that he is "OK" and is thankful for their support. He also said he has been consistent in what he has told police.
Beautiful People,

Let me start by saying that I'm ok. My body is strong but my soul is stronger. More importantly I want to say thank you. The outpouring of love and support from my village has meant more than I will ever be able to truly put into words. I am working with authorities and have been 100% factual and consistent on every level. Despite my frustrations and deep concern with certain inaccuracies and misrepresentations that have been spread, I still believe that justice will be served. As my family stated, these types of cowardly attacks are happening to my sisters, brothers and non-gender conforming siblings daily. I am not and should not be looked upon as an isolated incident. We will talk soon and I will address all details of this horrific incident but I need a moment to process. Most importantly, during times of trauma, grief and pain, there is still a responsibility to lead with love. It's all I know. And that can't be kicked out of me.

With Love, respect & honor...

Jussie.

Smollett told police he was beaten in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood by two people yelling racist and homophobic slurs. Police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson joined ABC7 News This Morning on Friday to talk about crime in the city. While he said there is nothing new to tell the public regarding the Smollett investigation, he did call the alleged attack "horrendous" and "cowardly."

"I will say this. The crime that he reported is horrendous. It's horrible. It was cowardly. We'll do everything we can," Johnson said.

Police have identified two potential persons of interest in the case that they would like to talk to. But so far, investigators have not found video of the attack. Johnson said while there are cameras all over the city, that is not highly unusual.
"We don't have anything that we've actually been able to view," Johnson said. "He's a victim right now, and we'll treat him like a victim. He's been very cooperative and we have no reason, at this point, to think that he's not being genuine with us."

Smollett was set to hold a meet and greet with fans in Los Angeles this weekend, but the event has been canceled due to security concerns.

"Jussie is a warrior whose light cannot be dimmed," the actor's family said in a statement released Thursday. It was the first time the public heard from them as the investigation was set to enter its fourth day.

President Donald Trump also had something to say about the alleged attack.

"That, I can tell you, is horrible. I've seen it. Last night. I think that's horrible. It doesn't get any worse, as far as I'm concerned," Trump said.

Smollett told police he was walking alone in the 300-block of East North Water Street around 2 a.m. Tuesday, on his way back from a nearby Subway restaurant, when he was beaten by two masked men, who poured a chemical on him. The chemical substance is believed to be bleach, but it is being confirmed by independent testing.

Smollett said the men put a noose around his neck. In a later interview, he said they yelled "MAGA country" as they beat him, before running away.

Brandon Z. Moore, Smollett's music manager, said he was on the phone with the actor when he heard some of the attack, and heard the words "MAGA country."

"I heard that clearly. I heard the scuffle and I heard the racial slur," Moore told Variety.

Chicago police confirmed they have spoken to Moore and his account is noted in the police report. Police said Moore and Smollett both said they were on the phone with each other at the time of the attack. Police said they can't verify that because Smollett refused to give them his phone.

A neighbor from Smollett's apartment building told police before the incident she saw someone outside carrying some kind of rope. But police said her description of this person is different from Smollett's.

Police confirmed there is surveillance video of Smollett entering the building with a rope around his neck. In the video, he walks through the lobby and takes an elevator to a home where the police would eventually be called.

Chicago police released photos of the two persons of interest late Wednesday, which show two silhouettes on New Street near Illinois Street between 1:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators confirmed video shows Smollett walking across the street from them. Police said in the video, he walks out of frame for about a minute and reappears on another camera "wearing a rope like a neck tie."

Prior to the attack on Jan. 22, Smollett had received a letter threat sent to the FOX studio in Chicago which had threatening language and was laced with powdery substance, likely Tylenol. The FBI is investigating that threat.

Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation should call Area Central at 312-747-8382. Tips can be submitted anonymously at www.cpdtip.com.

A $2,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the conviction of the attackers, said community activist Andrew Holmes. He said that information can be confidentially passed along by calling 800-883-5587.

‘Empire’ creator Lee Daniels responds to Jussie Smollett’s brutal attack as 911 call is released

Jussie Smollett

Chicago police have released blurry surveillance images of “potential persons of interest’’ they want to question about an alleged attack on “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett in Streeterville this week.

The pictures show two people walking down the street near where Smollett said two men approached him early Tuesday, yelled racial and homophobic slurs, hit him and wrapped a rope around his neck. The images are dark and do not show any attack. Their faces are not clear at all.

The pictures came from a surveillance camera on New Street near Illinois Street and were taken between 1:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. Smollett, who plays Jamal Lyon on Fox's “Empire," said he was attacked about 15 to 30 minutes later around the corner, in the 300 block of East North Lower Water Street.

“They are outside on a street walking," said police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. "They are in the area that we have determined it could have taken place… in the time and the area. It certainly leads us to have questions for them.’’

He said detectives "still have a lot more cameras to look at. But now that we’ve got potential persons of interest, the focus will be following their paths. Where did they come from and where did they go?”

Detectives are seeking to identify and interview the two subjects depicted in the picture above, in order to determine whether they may have any involvement in the reported incident, or if they may have witnessed the incident. (Chicago Police)

Smollet said he had just left a Subway when the men approached and yelled the slurs. Smollett is black and openly gay. Smollett told police he was hit and a chemical -- maybe bleach -- was poured on him. They put a rope around his neck and yelled, “This is MAGA country,’’ he told detectives.

Police were called about a battery just after 2:30 a.m. A friend of the actor told responding officers that “a noose was placed over the friend’s neck.” Police said Smollett went to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was treated for lacerations to his face, according to Guglielmi.

Smollett said he was on the phone with his manager during the attack, but both of them have refused to turn over their phone records, according to Guglielmi.

“Both the victim and his manager have made statements to detectives that they were on the phone with each other," he said in an email. "We were not able to independently verify that because they did not turn over cell phone records to police when asked.

"That being said, we have no reason to doubt the statements given, and the reason that detectives requested cell phone records is because the manager and the victim have a financial relationship with each other," he added. "Because of that, independent verification was needed for the investigation."

Meanwhile, detectives are expanding their search for videos to along the Chicago riverfront. "Detectives are currently working to gather video, identify potential witnesses and establish an investigative timeline,” Guglielmi said.

A week before the alleged attack, a containing white powder and making racial and homophobic threats was mailed to Cinespace Chicago Film Studios, where “Empire” is filmed. The letter, addressed to one of the show’s actors, triggered a hazardous materials call but fire crews determined the powder wasn't dangerous.

The FBI has since taken over the investigation into the letter while Chicago police continue to look into the attack, authorities said.

“Empire,” which premiered on the Fox network in 2015, is a musical drama that films in Chicago for most of the year. The series stars Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson and Bryshere Gray. Smollett plays a gay musician. He has emerged as an activist for LGBTQ rights and HIV education.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380 or report it anonymously to cpdtip.com.

Smollett has played Jamal Lyon - an openly gay singer - for five seasons on the hit FOX series.

'This shocking attack on our friend and tremendous advocate Jussie Smollett is, unfortunately, not an isolated incident. 'Last year alone, at least 26 transgender people, mostly transgender women of color, were brutally murdered. This is an unacceptable crisis, and HRC continues to press for improved reporting, passage of state laws that protect LGBTQ individuals from hate crimes, and expanded education and training initiatives.'

Derrick Johnson, NAACP President and CEO, added: 'The recent racist and homophobic attack on acclaimed actor and activist Jussie Smollett is troubling.

'The rise in hate crimes is directly linked to President Donald J. Trump's racist and xenophobic rhetoric. It is dangerous for any society to allow a tone of divisiveness and hatred to dominate the political discourse.

'As this rhetoric continues to bleed into our everyday lives, dangerous behavior will continue to place many law-abiding individuals at risk. We pray for a full physical and mental recovery Jussie Smollett and many unnamed victims of this forum of hate based terrorism.'

Others took the moment to throw criticism at 'gay jokes' and Kevin Hart's recent appearance on Ellen where he addressed the controversy surrounding his hosting the Oscars.

Actor Ryan Jamaal Swain stated: 'This is why holding "a little homophobic joke'"accountable is taken so FREAKING SERIOUSLY. Jussie Smollett Cursed Out by Gabourey Sidibe Over Misleading ‘Empire’ TweetJussie Smollett Song

In this May 20, 2016 file photo, Jussie Smollett attends the "Empire" FYC Event in Los Angeles. On Wednesday, March 15, 2017, Smollett debuted a music video for "F.U.W.", a song about injustice which he wrote and performs, on his YouTube page. (Photo by Richard Shotwell/Invision/AP, File

While TV star Jussie Smollett was in the recording studio working on his own music apart from “Empire,” set for release later this year, he couldn’t help but write a song about what’s going in the world, from injustice to President Donald Trump.

That’s when he penned “F.U.W.,” short for “(expletive) up world,” around President’s Day and immediately directed a music video to bring his words to life. The clip debuted late Wednesday on his YouTube page.

The black-and-white video features men and woman of various ethnicities and highlights injustices, from human and LGBT rights to religious and racial prejudices. A woman wears a hijab in one scene, a boy wears a hoodie in another and four women put their fists up as they stand in front of the words, “My body, my rights.”

“This song is for the oppressed. That’s why I feel like people will connect with it because it is very broad, because oppression is so broad,” he said in an interview Tuesday with The Associated Press.
In another scene, a man in a wheelchair runs over a Donald Trump mask.
“That mask is a representation of this false idea of patriotism. And that mask is a representation of this idea of white male privilege,” the 34-year-old Smollett said. “It’s so much bigger than him. It’s what he represents, and it’s because of that representation, that’s why he’s the president of the United States currently.”
“It’s our opportunity to take those masks off and shatter them, so that’s what I did,” he added.

Trump’s apparent mocking of a disabled reporter was widely criticized last year. Some of Smollett’s “F.U.W.” lyrics focus on Trump and his administration: “Why are we back in the past?/ It’s the same script different cast/ All of these alternative facts/ Catch me outside how about that?/ Why is it so hard to keep hope?/ Who got that popular vote?/ Was the whole thing just a joke?/Was the whole thing just one big joke?”
On Wednesday, Trump fired back at rapper Snoop Dogg days after the release of a music video in which he points a toy gun at a clown dressed like Trump and pulls the trigger.

Trump tweeted: “Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!”
The White House did not immediate return a request seeking comment about Smollett’s video, which also features a black man standing in front of a noose, images of barbed wire and two water fountains with “white” and “colored” signs above them.
“We had written so many other great songs for my album, but this just felt like ‘I can’t wait for the album, I can’t wait for a single,'” said Smollett, who plans to release an official single this summer. “You couldn’t follow, you know, normal rules or normal protocol with this, you just had to get it out and luckily Columbia (Records) stood behind me.”

During the presidential campaign, Smollett and other “Empire” cast members appeared in an ad endorsing Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Smollett, who was one of the kid stars of “The Mighty Ducks” film, is set to appear in Ridley Scott’s science fiction film “Alien: Covenant” this year. He said it was “freeing” to release a song apart from his “Empire” persona, and he challenged himself by directing the video.
“Because the song means so much to me and the message means so much to me, and what we’re going through right now means so much to me, I wanted to do it justice. And I knew what was in my mind would do it justice,” he said.

*“Empire” star Jussie Smollett tried to explain why he sent a tweet after last week’s episode that appeared as if he was leaving the show following last night’s season 2 finale.

Viewers quickly found out that Jamal will live for another season, and Smollett posted a video after the episode explaining that each word of his tweet was technically true.

In the video, Jussie says it’s the viewers’ fault for reading more into the literal meaning of his tweet. However, his co-star, Gabourey Sidibe, eventually revealed to be sitting next to him, is not having it. She is shown fuming as he attempts to explain his Twitter rope-a-dope.

After a deep calming breath, she goes in. “Let me light that ass up with facts real quick though,” she says.

Seconds later, the video cuts off as she’s just getting started.

EXCLUSIVE: The Empire CAST strikes back...at each other! Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson call the shots as jealousy and backstabbing reign supreme behind the scenes {VIDEO}

Empire's second season premiered Wednesday, September 23, on Fox. The show that 50 Cent constantly reminds fans is a knockoff of his hit STARZ drama series Power, finally took the bait and actually mentions him in the story line.

"50 Cent is still taking jabs at us," Cookie, played by Taraji P. Henson says. "Look what he put on [Instagram], thirsty a$$."

50 replied almost immediately with a hilarious IG video.

"I can't believe Cookie would say some sh*t like that about me," the music icon joked. "Thirsty? Me, thirsty? Come on, you stupid? Man, me and Cookie go way back. You know I hit that."

Nothing wrong with friendly competition, lol.

Empire Soundtrack Beat Madonna For No. 1 Spot On Billboard

  • SPOILER ALERT (if you haven't watched the finale)
  • The hip hop drama Empire ended its premier season with a blast - and huge ratings
  • Lead actors Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson have taken control over scripts and co-stars
  • Taraji is envious of Gealey's small waist and the sexy, fitted dresses wardrobe likes to put her in
  • Taraji's been wearing Spanx
  • What happens to Malik Yoba on the finale was at Howard's urging

Everyone may be in love with the cast of characters on Lee Daniel's music-themed drama Empire, but behind the scenes the actors are far from in love with each other.

Sources close to the record-breaking Fox series - which drew an impressive 21.1 million viewers for its season finale last week, the highest-rated finale since Grey's Anatomy in 2005 - tell Daily Mail Online that there is just as much drama behind the scenes as you see on camera.

Empire is a hip-hop drama based on the story of Lucius Lyon, played by Terrence Howard, a former drug dealer turned hip hop mogul, and his ex-wife, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson).

And while the couple are at odds in the show, they are co-conspirators behind the scenes. The insider revealed that Oscar nominees Taraji P.Henson and Terrence Howard have complete control the set. The two stars oversee the scripts and are often making changes as late as the day of taping.

Weighty issues: Henson and Grace Gealey (who plays Anika "Boo Boo Kitty" Calhoun) don't get along on the set. Sources say that Henson has been trying to lose weight and wears Spanx to cover her 'tummy pooch'

She plays the lead on one of the hottest new shows on TV but Taraji P. Henson's off screen style is a lot more subtle than the character she plays on Empire, Cookie Lyon.

During a recent event, the talented actress joined her costar, Terrance Howard, onstage in a pink ribbed Cynthia Rowley dress and a pair of Dolce & Gabbana strappy sandals, showing off her amazing pins.

We'd wear ours with a pair of stovepipe denim trousers or a ladylike white midi skirt and blouse.

And if you want to buy into the brand at a lower price point, we've got another pair of sandals from D&G on sale for just under $400. Get them before it's too late!

'They call for re-writes if they don't like the lines or feel as though another character is getting more camera time than they are,' says the source. 'They both have final approval over the script, which often frustrates the other actors because it causes their lines to regularly change.'

Henson and her co-star Grace Gealey (Anika "Boo Boo Kitty" Calhoun) don't get along on the set. Sources say that Henson has been trying to lose weight and sometimes wears Spanx to cover her 'tummy pooch.'

Apparently, she's envious of Gealey's small waist and the sexy, fitted dresses wardrobe likes to put her in.

'Taraji hates Grace's tiny figure and often complains to wardrobe about putting her in outfits sexier than her character's. She says stuff like, "if you put her a** in anything tighter she won't be able to breathe,"' our source revealed.

Meanwhile, Taraji herself wore a tight-fitting hot pink number at a recent Empire event.

On set, the two actresses stay far, far away from each other. Their real-life tension seems to be captured in their on-camera feud, which ended in a physical fight scene on the season finale.

Howard has had his own issues with co-star Malik Yoba (Vernon Turner), who sources say was killed off in the season finale at Howard's urging.

'He never liked working opposite Malik because women just swoon over him. During promotional appearances and public events, women would go crazy over Malik because he's been a Hollywood stud for a long time.

Favoritism: Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe (left) is also unhappy with her limited story line on Empire and blames it on Henson favoring Ta'Rhonda Jones, who plays Cookie's assistant Porsha

'That drove Terrence crazy,' the source explained.

Yoba was often frustrated that he had limited lines and knew that Howard was responsible for getting his camera time cut short.

Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe is also unhappy with her limited storyline on Empire and blames it on Henson favoring Ta'Rhonda Jones, who plays Cookie's assistant Porsha.

Sidibe, who joined Empire fresh off of American Horror Story, feels she's regulated to just running down the hall shouting one and two word lines to Howard's character Lucius.

'She enjoys working, but feels like she's grossly under utilized on this show. She made jokes that she'd wish they would kill her off in the finale on the set,' our source shared.

The awkward tension between the cast was also felt during a TCA panel at the Ace Hotel Theater in Los Angeles on March 13.

Both Henson and Howard had bizarre outbursts while other cast members were answering  questions.

Henson made an joke about her extremely long hair weave when Gealy was speaking as resulted in Gealy just rolled her eyes.

When the crowd cheered loudly for Jussie Smollett after one of his answers, Howard ranted about wanting to play the game piccino on a cruise ship.

Empire TV series is breaking records on television and now it’s shaking up the Billboard 200 album chart with it’s soundtrack.

Empire is now the top rated show on television with over 15 million people tuning in last week. There will also be a 2-hour season finale on Wednesday night on FOX which is expected to bring even more people.

Now Empire original musical compilation made it’s debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200 ahead of Madonna’s Rebel Heart LP.

The 18-track compilation sold 130,000 copies in it’s first week to become the first soundtrack to debut at No. 1 since Glee did it in 2010.

The soundtrack for Empire Season 1 saw contributions from some of the cast members on the show including Terrence Howard (Luscious Lyon), Bryshere Gray (Hakeem Lyon), aka Yaz, Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon), Serayah Mcneill (Tiana Brown), as well as, some special guests like Jennifer Hudson, Estelle, Mary J. Blige, Rita Ora and more.

The top cast members have also been busy promoting the show. Jussie Smollett and Yaz performed “No Apologies” on American Idol last week. The duo also performed on The View on Wednesday.

Jussie Smollett is transforming network primetime TV with his breakout role as a gay character, Jamal Lyon, on Empire.
Since skyrocketing to notoriety with the launch of Empire earlier this year, Smollett has remained tight-lipped about his sexual orientation.
During a recent appearance on Sway in the Morning, Smollett was asked flat out if he was gay, to which he replied, “I’m not willing to confirm or deny anything. I live my life. If someone’s looking for a box to put me in, then that’s not going to happen. But I live my life. If you really want to know about me, just watch because I don’t hide anything. I just choose not to talk about my personal life.”
Smollett is not talking about his personal life, but it seems one of his Empire co-stars didn’t get that memo.
In a new interview with Blackfilm.com, Malik Yoba, who stars on Empire as the Chairman of the Board, Vernon Turner, set the record straight on Smollett’s sexuality.
“I know Jussie, he is gay, and he’s very committed to issues around the LGBT community,” Yobe revealed. “He and I have a very close relationship.”
The former New York Undercover actor also talked about how Empire director Lee Daniels is destroying some of the tired stereotypes within the black community.
“I think that our show represents a huge opportunity to stay in the culture beyond entertainment value, and there’s an intrinsic nature of you have the gay factor, right? So, obviously, Lee is gay. That was an important storyline for him,” Yoba said. “I think it’s important for people to see themselves. Even within the Black community.”

*As the world knows, Fox’s “Empire” is all the rage these days. The show is so hot, the ratings are historic! But not everybody is on board with the show. One of them, J. Dahl Murphy, an EUR partisan, contacted us to share her incisive thoughts about the program.

*Listening to my favorite radio program discussing the new TV series “Empire,” one of the first comments made was … it just seems that all you have to do is “just put it on a plate, and “they” will “gobble it up.”  The inference being that the content of the show is so detrimental to us black folk, but it doesn’t matter, we will watch anyway and absorb all its contents.

What disheartened me so in this discussion was the fact that a significant number of callers were not outraged about the show but seemed to have lost conscious thought about the damage that is being caused to our people…here are the comments that have caused me to put pen to paper and send this email….

“the show is just entertainment”

“ooh goody….black folk are now working”

“it is reality, i know some folk like that”

“it is a big hit”

We need to form collective thought and action to shut down this television program that is destroying our community.  We need to take a lesson from the jewish community who shut down the king of pop Michael Jackson’s work because they didnt like a word that negatively described them in one of his songs…and he had to remove  it.  Plus they moved quickly and decisively in doing so as well.  Jewish people don’t tolerate negative anthing about themselves and they are respected for it too.  You dont mess with the Jewish people…. We must and can do the same thing.

All of us are in danger of terrorists threats, beheadings, shootings, being burning alive, etc. and yet we have some demons who have created a program that specifically targets the destruction of black folk,  seriously? and are you kidding me? Well, that aint gonna happen – we will shut you down.  Understand Empire received so many viewers for Fox tv, making them number one….other stations will be creating similiar programs that are going after the hearts and minds of black people to destroy us.

I am suggesting that these thoughts be the genesis of our own “African Drum” (a method africans used to communicate to one another from the sound of drum beats) that will spread the word that “‘Empire’ is Poison on a Plate” and is being served to us for our destruction and we should boycott and not watch.  This can be done using social media; facebook, twitter, txt, insta gram, you tube, etc.  We will call the show it what it is … POISON and it is being served specifically  to us. and you know what poison does to people.

Send this message to every black person you know; they in turn should do the same. This shut down message needs to go to our black organizations, fraternities, sororities. newspapers, etc. everywhere!  I do believe social media will catch on and carry this message throughout the united states.  Also, this is critical mass so it would be great if we can find out where they are filming the show and protest march there holding signs that say EMPIRE: POISON ON A PLATE.  Remember, black folk have been doing a lot of protesting this year and this is a worthwhile cause to get our rightful respect  as a people.

We will put Hollywood, actors and actresses on notice.  The black community will no longer accept this type of programming that is detrimental to our mind, body, soul and spirit.  It is our duty as conscious black folk to enlighten other brothers and sisters who are not yet at that point.

We must do this shut-down to save our children who are internalizing and acting out these negative images being put before them.

Black people are doing some phenomenal things in the world and we must tell our story through positive TV and Hollywood programming.

Remember, we have to do this for ourselves because no one else will. We need to strategize and implement this shut-down and do it in an expeditious manner.

Feel free to contact me (dahlmurphy@verizon.net) as well as people you know to discuss the strategies that can we can use for Empire to be removed from the airwaves.

Thank you –  J. Dahl Murphy.

About J. Dahl Murphy:
I am a black female living in the Metropolitan Washington DC area. I Retired from the federal government 3 years ago. I care about other black people and try to reach out to them whenever I can. And speaking of the “African Drum,” as referenced in the article, I always have my ear the ground when it comes to the advancement and well-being of black folk. As stated, the radio discussion of the TV series “Empire” compelled me to reach out to as many of my fellow brothers and sisters as possible … hence the fantastic EURweb. Again, as stated above, I would love to hear from other concerned blacks about “Empire: Poison on the Plate” and I may be contacted at dahlmurphy@verizon.net.

Panache E-P listen fagg*t, the boy lied and got everybody upset,  this has nothing to do with his sexuality, it has everything to do with the gay agenda pushing fairytales, for sympathy.  It's been questioned by the police who took their time to peel back the onion until they got to the truth which now looks like he staged the whole thing.  Yet you want us to believe him because he's gay in the same way people expect us to believe women who lie about rape.  Take your gay azz and have a seat or better yet cry crocodile tears for him since he's ruined his career and your agenda

CHICAGO (CBS) — Jussie Smollett paid two brothers to stage an attack against him, directed them to buy items used in the alleged assault and actually rehearsed it with them, sources say.

Sources say at least one of the brothers bought the rope used in the incident at Smollett’s request. The sources also say the “Empire” actor paid for the rope, which was purchased at the Crafty Beaver Hardware Store in the Ravenswood neighborhood the weekend of Jan. 25.

The brothers, who were questioned by police this week before being released, were paid $3,500 before leaving for Nigeria and were promised an additional $500 upon their return.

They left for Nigeria later in the day on Jan. 29, after the attack.

Sources said one of the brothers held the rope and poured bleach while the other wore a plain red hat and yelled slurs at Smollett.

The sources say the red hat was bought at an Uptown beauty supply store and that the attack was supposed to happen before Jan. 29. The brothers told detectives the three men rehearsed the attack days prior to it happening.

Smollett claims two men attacked him in Streeterville early Jan. 29 as he was heading to his apartment. He said they yelled racial and homophobic slurs at him, poured a chemical on him and put a rope around his neck.

The brothers are now cooperating with police.

Since being released Friday night, the brothers have been staying in an undisclosed location.

Chicago police spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said:

“We can confirm that the information received from the individuals questioned by police earlier in the Empire case has in fact shifted the trajectory of the investigation. We’ve reached out to the Empire cast member’s attorney to request a follow-up interview.”

Police raided the the brothers’ home on Wednesday, the same day police met them at O’Hare International Airport, as they were returning from Nigeria.

The two were in custody at Area Central detective headquarters since Wednesday night, before they were released on Friday evening.

Police at one point had placed them under arrest and referred to them as suspects in the case. Then, after interviews on Friday, they were released.

Pictures from the raid show the front door busted off its frame, items thrown across the living room, bedroom doors damaged and clothes tossed everywhere.

Police left behind an inventory list. Some of the items seized include a black face mask hat, an Empire script, phone, receipts, a red hat and bleach.

CBS 2’s Brad Edwards reported Thursday that a source with intimate knowledge of the investigation said investigators believe Jussie Smollett “potentially staged the attack.”

Smollett’s attorneys, Todd S. Pugh and Victor P. Henderson, released a statement Saturday about the latest allegations.

“As a victim of a hate crime who has cooperated with the police investigation, Jussie Smollett is angered and devastated by recent reports that the perpetrators are individuals he is familiar with. He has now been further victimized by claims attributed to these alleged perpetrators that Jussie played a role in his own attack. Nothing is further from the truth and anyone claiming otherwise is lying.

“One of these purported suspects was Jussie’s personal trainer who he hired to ready him physically for a music video. It is impossible to believe that this person could have played a role in the crime against Jussie or would falsely claim Jussie’s complicity
