Recently on the popular 'Religious Hardtalk' programme, hosted by Ian Boyne, the religious faith of most Jamaicans came under bold attack. It was being boldly proclaimed by an author that "Jesus Christ is not God".

As a scholar of biblical literature myself, I would like to weigh in on the debate and ask the following troublesome questions:

1. If God the Father Himself, the one true God (John 17:3) is "God" or divine in nature, how could his one TRUE Son be a fish, or any lesser type being in nature? See Hebrews 1:2, 3 and see the words "exact" and "copy" in any dictionary.

How come the Father Himself, in Hebrews 1:6-13, ordered angels to worship Jesus, and described His TRUE Son as "O God", even while calling Him "Lord", and describing Him as Creator just like Himself? Isn't His word final?

2. How come Jesus claimed to be able to forgive sins in Mark 2:5-12, and as the Jews correctly questioned, "Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

3. How come Thomas said to "HIM", Jesus, "MY LORD AND MY GOD" (not to "them", or to another, but to "HIM") while he was on earth?

4. How come Stephen prayed to Jesus directly in Acts 7:59, 60? And isn't it only one who is truly divine in nature that prayer should be directed to? And if Jesus is the "one Lord" identified in 1 Corinthians 8:6, how could Acts 7:59, 60 be possibly identifying any other being, when Stephen plainly prayed, on his knees, and cried, "Lord JESUS", or "Lord", etc, etc.?

It seems to me that the traditional Christian faith of most Jamaicans does have some proof in the Bible after all!

Oh wow!! How the idea that the both are fictional creations for things we couldn't and cannot explain at our past and current intelligence levels? That is not an attack just my view up for debate or discussion.

The Lord Jesus Himself said Except you believe that I am you shall die in your sins. Our Lord Jesus when speaking to Fellow Isra-El-ities said You believe in God believe also in me. The African Bishops were always champions of Jesus is God. His very Name means Y-H salvation. While a common Hebrew Name it encompasses the Godhead when properly spoken or written, Lord Jesus Christ. Join in this closing prayer of the Scriptures "Even so come Lord Jesus". Repentance and forgiveness of sins must be preach in the name of Yeshua Mosiach, that is Jesus the Messiah or Christ.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:5-7 (in Context) Isaiah 9 (Whole Chapter 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend[a] it.

There is no reason to believe that the son who sacrificed his life for our sins is God.  I am not trying to disrespect anyone who is heavily involved in his/her religion or beliefs.  This is simply my strong conviction.  Its really funny how certain people will show certain scriptures to prove the topic that is being talked about.  However, they would not even provide other scriptures that would say the total opposite.  Unfortunately, at this moment, I can not show any scriptures because I have not fully memorized these phrases.  Later on in the week, I will try to prove that this is not the case.  All respect to the Almighty Jehovah God and his son!!
