Recently on the popular 'Religious Hardtalk' programme, hosted by Ian Boyne, the religious faith of most Jamaicans came under bold attack. It was being boldly proclaimed by an author that "Jesus Christ is not God".
As a scholar of biblical literature myself, I would like to weigh in on the debate and ask the following troublesome questions:
1. If God the Father Himself, the one true God (John 17:3) is "God" or divine in nature, how could his one TRUE Son be a fish, or any lesser type being in nature? See Hebrews 1:2, 3 and see the words "exact" and "copy" in any dictionary.
How come the Father Himself, in Hebrews 1:6-13, ordered angels to worship Jesus, and described His TRUE Son as "O God", even while calling Him "Lord", and describing Him as Creator just like Himself? Isn't His word final?
2. How come Jesus claimed to be able to forgive sins in Mark 2:5-12, and as the Jews correctly questioned, "Who can forgive sins but God alone?"
3. How come Thomas said to "HIM", Jesus, "MY LORD AND MY GOD" (not to "them", or to another, but to "HIM") while he was on earth?
4. How come Stephen prayed to Jesus directly in Acts 7:59, 60? And isn't it only one who is truly divine in nature that prayer should be directed to? And if Jesus is the "one Lord" identified in 1 Corinthians 8:6, how could Acts 7:59, 60 be possibly identifying any other being, when Stephen plainly prayed, on his knees, and cried, "Lord JESUS", or "Lord", etc, etc.?
It seems to me that the traditional Christian faith of most Jamaicans does have some proof in the Bible after all!

Why do you think there are so many different religions?
I`l tell you... 5 thousand years ago, the Egyptians worshipped the Sun. They understood that without the Sun, the crops would not grow and life would be unable to survive. Every morning the Sun will rise, bringing vision, warmth and security, protecting us from the cold, predator-filled darkness. They also tracked the stars, enabling them to recognize events that occurred over time, like eclipses, equinoxes and full moons. They divided the night sky into 12 constellations, the 12 star-signs, or signs of the zodiac. As you know, the signs of the zodiac were given symbols/animals, turning them into elaborate myths, you all read your star-signs don`t you? They created myths and stories to describe the behavior and movement of the sun and stars. Now, one story told was of Horus, the Egyptian sun-god of around 3000bc. The story of Horus is based on the movement of the sun throughout the year. Horus, being the sun, had an enemy - Set. Every morning, Horus would win the battle against set, but in the evening, set would defeat Horus, and send him into the underworld. Beyond the horizon. Good vs Evil, Light vs Dark, Day and Night -
Where do you think the term sunset came from?? Read these other important characteristics of Horus - He was born on december 25 of the virgin Isis, his birth was accompanied by a star in the east, upon his birth he was adored by three kings, at the age of 12 he became a prodigal child teacher, at the age of 30 he was baptized and began his ministry, he travelled with 12 disciples performing miracles like healing the sick and walking on water, he was known as The Truth, The Light, The Good Shepherd, The Lamb of God and many others. He was betrayed by one of his disciples, crucified, dead for three days, and resurrected.
Sound Familiar..??? Let me explain. During Autumn/Winter, the sun gets lower and lower in the sky, making colder and shorter days. On December 22nd, the sun stops getting lower, and for three days it does not move. The point it stops is next to the southern Crux - or southern Cross constellation. On the morning of December 25th, the three brightest stars in Orion - Orions belt, align with the brightest star in the sky - Sirius, and when aligned, they all point to where the sun is due to rise. When the sun does rise on the 25th it moves 1 degree north, bringing the promise of warmer and longer days, meaning the crops will grow. Why else do you think you celebrate December 25?
So the sun stops moving for three days, on a cross, then rises and brings life - He Is Risen. Orions Belt is also known as The Three Kings - did the Three Kings follow the brightest star in the east to the location of the birth of baby Jesus? Horus is not the only God who just happens to have the same structure and characteristics as Jesus. Attis - Greece 1200bc Krishna - India 900bc Dionysus - Greece 500bc Mythra - Persia 1200bc and many many more... Why do you think the day of Rest/Worship is Sunday? I too celebrate Christmas, with a difference, i know the truth. I urge you to open your mind to this truth. Authority has been taken as Truth for far too long. Wake up and help save the Earth and stop waiting for invisible means of support dumbfucks!
Truth is the Authority
