I would love to be considered for an interning opportunity. I have been listening to this station for years. I am a college grad trying to garner much needed experience in this field. I know I will get the hands on experience that is needed to make it in this business. Why not start with the best as I am of Caribbean decedents (Hispanic-Jamaican). Please forward information to ovhawthorne@yahoo.com

Thank You

I am very interested in interning with Caribbean Fever. My name is Darold Bien-Aime.I am a sophomore at SUNY Old Westbury College in Old Westbury,New York. I major in Media and Communications.I host an online radio show called "Class Act" on Old Westbury Web Radio Sundays from 4pm-6pm on OWWRNY.ORG.I play an assortment of Hip Hop,Reggae,Soca,Dancehall, and RnB.I also comment on a number of national headlines with social, economical,or civil ramifications. I try to incorporate journalistic practices, research, questions, and reporting when I speak on the national news headlines. Working at Old Westbury Web Radio I have a greater understanding of how radio stations work between production, public relations, and programming. If I could intern for for Caribbean Fever I could earn college credits for my time spent there. I am haitian american and have an immense passion for Kompa,Reggae,Soca, and Dancehall.I aspire to be a radio personality and I believe there needs to be more programs on the air that play more Caribbean. Not even to be byast but New York has one of the strongest Caribbean presences in the northeast. There is a strong audience for it and it is something to definitely be considered catering to.

Hello Mr. Levy. My name is Nicole Esther Bowen. I am a former Brooklyn/Caribbean Party promoter. I am an undergrad student from ASA College of Technology; I majored in Medical Assisting and earned a certificate in Medical Billing on May 17th 2011. I was born in Brooklyn, New York ( October the 13th 1989 ).... Unfortunately, I am still in alot of school debt ( Over 40,000 ) to the exact. I would love to become an intern for WBLS FM just for the simple fact that I've been a fan of this radio station; Even before WLIB had became a gospel station. My dream was to ALWAYS promote the West Indian culture. Being that both of my parents are Grenadian and I love Soca music, I believe that being an intern will be a great and humble experience for me.

Please contact my Email address ------>>> @ pheola1@gmail.com ... Thank You for your time !! :-)

Hello Davhed Levy,

My name is Shayne Alleyne-Husbands, and I have been a fan of your radio show for many years. I first started listening to you at an early age of 4 with my mother, as you were the disk jockey on 1190 Am. With deep bajan roots my mother raised me on much soca, and taught me to two step to spouge as I grew older. By the age of 11, with the aid of my older cousin, I became exposed to music way before my time and this initially sparked my interest as a DJ. As my cousin and I initially sat down listening to various tracks by Buju Banton, Patrice Rushen, Pete Rock, Sylvia Striplin, Bob Marley, RPB, Edwin Yearwood ect.,he taught me that any good musician, dj, producer, or person must be able to have much diversity in their music in order to become great at what they do. Initially I did not understand what he meant at a young age; however as I began listening to all types of music I understood the importance of a good music selection. As an amatuer DJ, with experience previously working at Sam Ash and currently in college, I believe that your internship can help me in multiple ways to benefit my future. Through working with you, I believe that the skills taught can carry me throughout various jobs and also prepare me for the real world which lies ahead. I hope that you take the time to consider my entry and have a happy holiday.

P.S. Thank you for reposting my Bajan Independence Mix last year on your facebook fan pg.
