On Twitter, a video was posted showing what appears to be silver paint splattered on the statue, which was also defaced days after it was first unveiled on Juneteenth in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.

The spokesman said police do not intend on releasing the video. Cops have yet to comment on whether they believe the motivation for the attack was racism.

The statue was recently moved to the Manhattan park.

Additional statues that remain nearby are Rep. John Lewis and Breonna Taylor. Taylor was a 26-year-old black woman who was shot and killed by Louisville, Kentucky police in last year.

Police said Lewis' and Taylor's statues were left unharmed.

In June, Floyd's bust was smeared with black paint and marked with the phrase 'Patriot Front' — a white nationalist hate group.

Video of the incident went viral, and soon protests against police brutality spread throughout the United States, lasting for months, turning violent at times.

Chauvin was fired by the Minneapolis Police Department in the aftermath and was soon arrested.

He was found guilty of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

On June 25, 2021, Chauvin received a sentence of 22 and a half years in prison, with the possibility of supervised relief, contingent on good behavior after serving two-thirds of his sentence or 15 years for second-degree murder.

@Sufferahsmusic Media Prod  if you feel that George Floyd is the poster guy for equality justice and police reform, you haven't learned anything.  Brothers like MLK, Malcolm X and others died for what you've stated.  Nothing has changed and we still fighting for it.  George Floyd was a political movement which used black people.  Now that Biden and the democrats have won, what has changed?  Back in the 80's when Donald Trump was hanging out with Mike Tyson, Don King, Michael Jackson and other black celebs, I didn't hear one thing about him being racist.  He becomes President, and the only thing I've heard was "He's a racist".  Okay let's say he is a racist.  What is Biden?  What is Camel toe Harris?  Biden wrote and pushed more Federal Laws that incarcerated more black folks than any other politician in modern history.  He always bragged about what he did and showed that he hates black people with a passion.  Camel Toe Harris, incarcerated more blacks while she was the Attorney General in California, even locking up parents for truancy children, leaving the same children she claimed she was looking out for without parents while they were locked up.  She was just locking up blacks in California on ridiculous weed charges, but everyone forgets that.  Camel Toe Harris doesn't even identify as black, she's Asian.  And she hates black men, based on her father leaving her mother.  All these uncle Tom politicians don't give a damn about blacks.  Here is a fun fact.....More blacks are killed in America by blacks than being killed by Police Officers.  It's the media that makes you believe blacks are killed in droves by the police.  Look at statistics in Chicago, NY, Detroit, Philly, Atlanta and the other black areas in this country and if you're honest with yourself, black on black crime is off the charts.  No one speaks about it because there's no political gain from it.  But, hey lets make a bum like George Floyd a memorial.  Yes, I said it, George Floyd was a BUM.  Name one thing he did that was uplifting to the black community.  The problem with our black people is that we get emotional because a person is black and we hate looking at the truth and facts.

Wow what a terrible thing to say about a person…..thats sad that you feel comfortable in this day and age where people can find out who you are and destroy your life using your own words …..you need to reevaluate what your saying because like it or not George Floyd is the poster guy for equality justice and police reform …..because of his death there is a conversation going about change ..so maybe our black children wont be brutalized the same way he was regardless of the perceived value or none value we thought he had
