FBI 'closes in on KKK members' who tied two black couples to a tree, cut out one pregnant woman's baby and then shot them all dead seventy years ago {VIDEO} LYNCHING POSTCARDS

The FBI have reportedly been questioning elderly men after their names came up in a new investigation into the lynching of four black victims almost 70 years ago.

On July 25, 1946, two African-American married couples were shot dead near the Moore's Ford Bridge in Georgia.

Second World War veteran George W. Dorsey, his wife Mae Murray, and Roger Malcom with his wife Dorothy were attacked by a gang of white men on their way home, believed to be Ku Klux Klan members.

The couples were tied to a tree and shot around 60 times. Dorothy Malcom, who was seven months' pregnant, had her unborn baby cut out with a knife.

White farmer Loy Harrison was driving home the two black couples, whom he employed as sharecroppers on his land.

There were whisperings around town that George Dorsey had secretly been dating a white woman, a taboo in the segregated South.

And there was no love lost between the townsfolk and Roger Malcom, who had stabbed a white farmer during a knife fight 11 days earlier.

He was still waiting in jail when Harrison paid $600 to bail him out.

When Harrison's truck rolled near the crossing, a white mob grabbed the two couples from the vehicle, dragged them down a nearby trail and tied them to trees. Using rifles, shotguns and pistols, the mob fired three volleys of bullets, leaving their bodies behind slumped in the dirt, according to investigators.

President Harry Truman dispatched the FBI to Monroe, a town about 45 miles east of Atlanta.

The feds, however, were met with a wall of silence.

Harrison, the farmer who claimed he'd been 'ambushed' but was unharmed, told investigators he didn't recognize the dozen or so unmasked assailants.

Other whites abided by a code of silence. Black people, too, kept quiet, petrified of reprisal if they spoke out.

Several suspects were named in the FBI's 1946 investigation, but, partly due to a lack of witnesses, none was ever charged.

Now a lengthy investigation by the Equal Justice Initiative this month has produced names of potential suspects and campaigners were urging authorities to seek justice for the decades-old crimes before it's too late.

The report revealed that there were 3,959 lynchings of black people in 12 states in the South between 1877 and 1950 - at least 700 more lynchings than previously reported.

According to The Guardian, an 86-year-old man in Monroe, Georgia has been questioned over his involvement in the lynchings but said he had nothing to do with the brutal killings.

Charlie Peppers said: 'The blacks are blaming people that didn't even know what happened back then.'

He also denied ever being a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

Daily Mail Online was awaiting on a comment from the Atlanta field office of the FBI on Monday.

I notice there's only a focus on lynchings in the south yet the north, even New York City itself has a history with lynchings also. Gina gene asked what happened to the unborn baby and I can at least say that in similar cases in South Carolina lynching in Greenwood you'll see astorisks next to the cases of women meaning there was gang rape involved. In that same case, the pregnant woman was hanged and as the baby slipped out and onto the ground the men stomped the live infant to death.
Gina gene, in other cases a number of Black infants were stolen and fed to ALLIGATORS in order to attract the  largest ones so that the skins would be traded for profit in order to make wallets, shoes, etc.  There's a museum about this in the south and I think it's past due time for it to become a traveling exhibit because even my relatives in the Bahamas didn't know things like this except for a few who migrated here in the late 1800's and help found the NAACP.  The traveling exhibit should go to every Caribbean island so that the ideology of 'if I were born in the US I would be doing much better than those lazy good for nothing Black Americans'.  The stories of the Blacks lynched because they spoke out against being paid less for their cotton than Whites or because they were doing well with their small business selling cow or goat milk or because they opened The People's Grocery in Missouri and it did too well so they were lynched because of the success needs to become a traveling storyline around the entire Caribbean to really teach each other what was really happening.  The Caribbeans who got it like Hubert Harrison of St. Croix who mentored Marcus Garvey about the racial hell here are kept hidden because Harrison was fierce. The Black elites here don't want him remembered because he told the truth, occupied a spot on Wall street (built by untold amounts of slaves mind you) and yelled at the demons from the opening bell to the closing bell one day.  His Grandson had a tv show called "Say, Brother" and wound up dead under very suspicious circumstances.
Like brother Malcolm X I also come from two cultures from the islands and from the south and can see both sides quite clearly.  We need to know each other's stores intrinsically and because those in power have us at each other's throats when there's no need to be.  We come from the same source.  In this nation and in Africa and among the Black Latin world where lynchings of Haitians in the Dominican Republic occurs to this day we need a serious talk that reveals the truth of the hell we are still enduring as a people. I have had my relatives and other Caribbeans literally tell me that being born here I inherited life's lottery meanwhile I look at my closed mouthed closed off southern relatives and they say nothing, are distant and cold and when I research the town they hail from I see stories of lynchings and that asterisk next to the women's stories.  We have a LOT to discuss, explore, reveal and put on film to tell the stories visually just among us.  Sorry to go on and on but too many times I heard my island relatives say " I didn't know I was Black until I came to America" meanwhile we number in the Billions on this planet earth and I see no need for suffering in small islands in areas like Baintown to Trenchtown.  No need! People learn about each other and rise up!  Africa all over, unite and life every voice and sing!

They should put former Attorney General/ Lt Governor of Alabama Bill Baxley in charge cause justice will be served just like the one he sent to prison for the murders of the four lil girls(see Spike Lee's Four Little Girls documentary) who died in the Birmingham church bombing! Bill is an ol family friend(my grandma raised him) and no joke and has always been a major trooper in the civil rights fight!

The ones responsible who have passed on are roasting as we speak. The ones still alive will be joining them soon enough. Kind of late for justice isn't it?

The truth is sadder than any fiction.  Where is this baby and do they know what happened to their parents? Im saddened there is no justice as these cowards lived a full life. Hopefully in fear, stressed out and irrevocably remorseful.

QUESTION IS.....WHERES THE UNBORN BABY! !!! THEY HAVE NOT MENTION YET WHAT HAPPEN TO THIS BABY. MOST BABIES SURVIVE BETTER AT 7 Months THEN AT 9

There are  many more of their ilk who were never brought to trial for terroristic acts against blacks then and just to think their offsprings are now police officers, judges, lawyers, doctors, etc.supposedly serving us today
