A father put ecstasy in a female student drink before his son raped her during an Illinois State University orientation event, authorities have said.

The two-day event at Illinois State University, called the Preview, is meant for students to find out more about the university before classes start in August.
Parents can attend and stay on separate floors inside Hewett Hall in Normal, Illinois State University Chief of Staff Jay Groves told the Chicago Tribune.
Childs Jr and his father were in a dorm room with other students, First Assistant State's Attorney Adam Ghrist said in a statement read Thursday in court.
The elder Childs offered to go and buy alcohol for underage students and returned having purchased the goods, according to Ghrist.

Then, the woman said, Childs Sr put a pill in her soda before Childs Jr followed her and raped her twice, Ghrist recounted in his statement.
The events unfolded between 10 and 11 pm on Tuesday according to the prosecution. They have 'nothing to do with mischief and everything to do with terrible criminal behavior on the part of adults', Groves told the Chicago Tribune.
The Preview has taken place for 50 years.
The elder Childs shared photos of himself with his son on Tuesday and Wednesday on Facebook, geolocating then at Illinois State University.
He wrote in the captions that he felt proud of his son - and a little nervous - as he took him to his new college.
Childs Jr and his father were arrested on Wednesday at a train station, as they were about to head back to Chicago, authorities said.
The elder Childs had 22 ecstasy pills in his pocket during the arrest, according to Ghrist.
Childs Jr told police the woman was 'messed up' on Tuesday night, Ghrist added. He has now been charged with four counts of criminal sexual assault.
Meanwhile his father, who faced previous convictions for attempted murder, domestic battery and weapon charges according to Ghrist, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Both are due to be arraigned on Friday.
