Family of toddler who fell 150ft to her death from cruise ship blame the liner because one window was left OPEN in a wall of glass when the girl's grandfather propped her up against it
The chief cop whose officers are investigating the shocking death of an Indiana toddler who fell 150ft from a cruise ship has told DailyMail.com he has not ruled out murder.
Tragic Chloe Wiegand is thought to have slipped out of her grandfather's hands before plunging through an open window and over the side of a Royal Caribbean vessel as it prepared to depart Puerto Rico on Sunday.
But Sgt Jose D. Sanchez, acting head of the San Juan Police Department's Homicide Division, told DailyMail.com that it was premature to declare the incident an accident.
'There are various possibilities. It could be a homicide. It could be a murder. It could be an accident,' he said during an exclusive interview on Monday evening at police headquarters.

The family of an Indiana toddler who fell 150ft to her death from a cruise ship on Sunday have blamed the liner for her death, saying she died by falling through a window which had been left open in the kids' play area.
Chloe Wiegand died after falling from the Freedom of the Seas Royal Caribbean cruise ship onto a concrete dock in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Sunday afternoon.
Police said she had been in her grandfather Salvatore Anello's arms and that he lost his grip on her. They were on the 11th floor of the ship where there is a kids' pool known as the 'H20 zone'.
On Tuesday, a lawyer hired by the family revealed that Anello had put Chloe up on a wooden railing which to let her bang on the glass, as she loved to do at her older brothers' ice hockey games.

I really hope there is video of what happpend because how can you stand next to a large open window and not feel the breeze or hear noise coming from the outside. I wonder if he was drinking or has very poor eyesight. In either case that poor child died for absolutely nothing. I am not sure how the cruise line is responsible for this.
Why would you prop a child on the window edge anyway? He was negligent.
Feel like there is a more sinister plot by the whole family. They're gonna run with that ice hockey story too. Sad may she SIP.
This is very sad. Parents, watch your babies. It only takes a second for tragedy to happen.
Glad it didnt happen at the Grand Canyon or the family would blame the planet Earth for their stupid decision
