Investigators in St. Ann have reportedly unearthed more startling details about an ex-cop who was nabbed earlier this week and his connections with a notorious gang in St. Catherine. The ex-policeman, who has not been named, was allegedly caught with an illegal firearm in St. Ann on Tuesday, July 5.
He could face an identification parade on Thursday, July 7.
A police source told RJR News that checks have uncovered a series of dubious involvement by the ex police constable in gang-related activities.
The source says the investigations have so far linked the weapon which was seized from the ex cop to the un-named St. Catherine gang.
According to reports, the ex-cop, who was assigned to the St. Ann Division up to last year, was nabbed after he was stopped and searched in St. Ann's Bay, just after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
A .45 pistol with two rounds was taken from his waistband.
The ex-cop was given marching orders by the Jamaica Constabulary Force following what a police source confirmed was a string of infractions.
