A number of New York legislators have partnered to provide relief to aid earthquake-ravaged Haiti. The Haitian leaders from the group have established drop-off points for relief supplies.
Among the leaders are Assembly Member Rodneyse Bichotte-Hermelyn, who represents the 42nd Assembly District, Council Member Farah N. Louis, another daughter of Haitian immigrants, who represents the 45th Council District in Brooklyn, Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke; State Sens. James Sanders and Kevin Parker; Assembly Members Amanda Septimo, Khaleel Anderson, Clyde Vanel, Diana C. Richardson and Mathylde Frontus; Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez; Queens Borough President Donovan Richards; Council Member Selvena Brooks-Powers; and Democratic Party Council Member nominee Rita Joseph.
Accepted donations:
Baby products and supplies; personal hygiene products; and medical/emergency supplies – tents, sterile gloves, batteries, emergency candles, first aid kits, gauze and bandages, garbage bags, thermometers, flashlights, alcohol pads, small scissors, hand sanitizers, canned goods, deodorant, toiletries, toothpaste/toothbrushes, feminine products, combs/hairbrushes.
The community is being asked to drop off supplies to the following locations from Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm:
Brooklyn
Queens
The Bronx
