Caskets containing human remains are still scattered around a Louisiana town, nearly four weeks after being washed out of their burial vaults by floods caused by Hurricane Ida.
Pastor Haywood Johnson, of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Ironton, 25 miles southeast of New Orleans, told CNN how caskets have still not been returned to their burial plots as the community desperately tries to rebuild.
Burial plots in the area around New Orleans are typically very shallow because the ground water level is so high, and coffins are often laid to rest in above-ground vaults and tombs.
But as flood waters from Hurricane Ida swept through the region at the end of August, many caskets were washed out of the vaults, and are still scattered around town.
Johnson pointed out a pair of caskets, belonging to a father and daughter, which had ended up beside each other in someone's front yard.
Another casket could be seen upside down against a nearby levee, while a funeral vault weighing thousands of pounds was washed nearly three thousand feet before ending up right in front of the church.
Johnson said he is still looking for the caskets of his own mother, uncle and sister.

The search for the caskets, which are bound in above-ground tombs and made of cement and other heavy materials, has been further complicated by mud, high grass and snakes
Haywood Johnson, the town's church pastor, says caskets he buried have been carried away from cemetery grounds and spread throughout the community
'It caused people to be in disarray,' Johnson told CNN.
'They're shocked by the magnitude of the destruction, but they're even more so overwhelmed by their loved ones floating and ending up landing in the streets and people's yards and on the side of the levee and out in the field, and it's just, just overwhelming.'
'One of the things that bothered me is that I was the one that buried most of those people, most of the deceased, and it was like pulling the scab off of a wound,' Johnson added.
The search for the missing caskets has been further complicated by mud, high grass and snakes, Johnson told CNN.
It is estimated that 30 to 50 caskets were displaced during the flooding, according to Ryan Seidemann, chairman of Louisiana's Cemetery Response Taskforce.
After Hurricane Katrina displaced nearly a thousand caskets back in 2005, Louisiana now requires all of them to have some form of identification, like a plaque, so they can be returned if they are washed away, according to NPR.
Many of the caskets are weighed down with cement and other heavy materials, but that does not always help in the raging floods caused by a hurricane.
FEMA offers families up to $8,000 to help properly rebury their loved ones.

Residents have called upon the federal government to assist the beleaguered area with the rebuilding process after Ida's destructive path, WDSU reports.
'We just want to know what is happening. When will these projects get started? So residents can try to come in and salvage some of their property,' Major Tracy Riley said.
While the Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans Division said the town's levees worked as they were designed to, the high elevation of the land surrounding Ironton made for the perfect conditions for flooding.
'With the Plaquemines area, the entire West Bank we’re building what we call the New Orleans to Venice project,' said Ricky Boyett, spokesperson for the Army Corps of Engineers.
The Venice project has been going on for years, however the contract for the New Orleans to Venice levee project is currently out for bid.
Boyett told Fox 8 Live that it should bring the levee systems in lower Plaquemines up to federal standards.

On Tuesday, Members of the Louisiana Cemetery Response Task Force were in Ironton to survey the devastation and determine what equipment and tools will be needed to recover the missing caskets.
A staging area was also being created for bodies to be properly identified before they are returned to their final resting places.
'It's not something you can do without heavy equipment,' said task force chairman Ryan Seidemann, while adding that some of the caskets and their vaults weighed tons.
'When I was out in this community cemetery, I was up to my knees in muck, so finding the purchase for a crane or some other kind of [machinery] to get a hold and be able to lift these these heavy weights is going to be a challenge,' he said.

And we can take it farther, the tropical storms and hurricane always start where, look at the route the travel to, observe year after year, the storms always start in a certain place and travel a certain routes, what do they have in common? As a young boy I learned every thing i taught, I research and try to live differently, i strongly believe in the power of black people, but they have no idea, so look around you and see how every one else are using it against them, for over 20 years I don't know what health crisis is, i dont know what financial problem is, if I am doing something wrong how come i dont have similar problems as the rest of them? But look at all those who have the same belief, they are all live the same way, they have the same problems, they complaint about the same issues, if they are so right, why are they always complaining? Again you have to believe in something, but at what point do you question your belief and your faith and see if its a reality or does it make sense, if someone worship snakes, put that some one in a cage with that snake, and see what happens unless the evil spirit exist to the term of their souls, if they worship a tree and they decide to build a building where that tree is base, let see if they won't cut that tree down, now for the rest of us who believes in God and have never seen God except we feel the spirit due to our belief, let see any man destroy God, let see any man go against God and win, man kind has been going to space for so long still cannot live on kars or the moon, they will never make the sun a living planet with all that science for those who so believe in science and Dr Fauci, they still have not visit all the planets that exist, those planets are there for a reason, God is bigger than the world he created, men did not create this planet, so they cannot destroy this planet, only God will end this world, satan is not capable, because God created him for what ever reason I cannot understand, thats why I forgive those who don't believe in the bible, it can be real confuse until you start to travel to the land of faith

Before Katrina there was a tropical storm Rita that raised the dead above ground, with so much water that went down to the ground 20 feet under, right after that a year later came Katrina who came and do the same thing and was much more powerful and angrier. If you observed many of those storms repeatedly battle one zone which is the south, now look at the area of those storms, year after year, and look at the area of tornados year after year and the areas. The bible said the earth will spit out the dead thay were wrongfully murdered and secretly buried, the sea will spit out all its victim, so does the sharks and the animals that eat human as well as even the cemetery.
All those areas are the areas where they used to dumped slaves without burial, they the white cops used to take innocent black to the woods shot them in the back and killed him, majority of those victims have never been accountable for, their family died in grief so let's call them,the unknown. There are young black girls and women who were raped and killed and dump in those woods, their spirits are not resting and being torment, even Jesus had to be buried in order for his soul to rest and raised in 3 days, for any one who don't believe the power of the soul and their spirit, murder someone keep them in your back yard and your basement i guaranty you,will never be at peace and no one in that one will never be at peace until they find the remain and perform a ceremony, that is the respect we owe to the spirit, the final good bye before they go to sleep because the bible said the earth is not your home, its your waiting place for the coming.
Please read your bible where it talks about the body, the flesh and the spirit, in the bible days those who were loyal to God were just disappeared, like Isaiah, we have to value life until the end of days, white people habe blood on their hands and they are being warn, if you see the movie, the day after tomorrow, many thinks its just a movie, now make it make sense, why is Jeff Bezos and the CEO of Virgin airlines as well as tesla are working on space rockets for citizens, do you hear the price tag for the tickets, can you afford it, black people are the poorest group on earth due to lack of power too busy relying on whote people instead of investing, how many of then will be able to afford that ticket, and what will happen?
Now they are setting poor people up and they can't even see it because they rely on white people and believe the rich is their God, if you think corona is it, just wait or you can pay attention, they shut down the economy, what exactly did they do you cannot do now, when Donald Trump said they are doing it to drive people out in poverty you did not believe it because they conditioned not to believe Trump, so let see they want to give you vaccine and sit wear a mask, they open everything back and tell you to social distance, go back to work and still wear a mask, you could of done that in 2020 and still go to wear instead of stopping you from being productive.
Instead they crippled you and make you beg, they give you hand outs like stimulus check and play the savior so they can get power, its working, now do you see the game, a sheet of plywood used to cost $16 at home depot in 2019, now it cost $82 does it make sense to you,whole food is charging delivery fees they tell you its because of the pandemic, food prices are being raised, now they have ships dock in California not being unload but they tell you prices will rise because of that to order now, walmart still at away but partnered with a company that will charge interest, oh seriously they are going to provide a service that deal with money and they won't charge nothing,slap the first idiot who believes that.
So with all that said if you read your bible this is some of,the change to the last days, poverty is a business, they will use the pandemic to raise prices so you can't afford it than they will have to give you hand outs so you can do what ever they say, and for those who thinks I am crasy, remember you have been saying that for all the years I was warning you about corona, read my past comments over the years, I told you people there will be unfortunate event that is why I hustle hard and make money necause its a tool that will be needed, I hope some of you are ready for 2022, countd the days
