One of the columns of Jamaican dancehall music, Buju Banton took to social media recently to vent his frustration at what he is seeing in the dancehall space nowadays. The Banton, while not calling any names seemingly is not a fan of the “Dirt Bounce” which is the most popular dance move on the island at the moment, however, it’s a controversial dance because men are rocking their hips from side to side to perform the dance.
“We ago get rid a di woleep a man dem weh a whine up and down inna that bumbaclaat… we ago move dem back outta the way.. dancehall fi live”, says Buju while on the live chat.
One person watched the video and commented, “Real way mi lion move them out a fire fi dem p****y deah”, while another said, “True words”.
Check out his remarks below.
Moving of the hips while dancing is usually done by females hence many dancehallers are arguing that this dance move which also indirectly involves the shaking of the ass should not be tolerated.
