Hundreds of Jamaicans, dressed in black, took to the streets across the island on Friday o protest the increase in violent acts against women and children.
The protest organised by the group, Woman Inc, had been prompted by the rape of four women and an eight year-old girl on Monday night by armed gunmen in the western parish of St James. They were also protesting the alleged rape of an 11 –year-old girl who had been pregnant by her grand uncle.
National Security Minister Peter Bunting led protestors in the western city of Montego Bay and some of the protestors have called on the authorities to implement the death penalty.

Let me say to some of you the hard truth, about why nothing is going to be done regarding this matter in Jamaica…. these kids that are getting rape and abuse is a non factor in Jamaica, if you do some digging you’ll find that these kids are mostly from broken homes and poor families. The government has to keep this going like how they do crime to stay relevant keeping people in a state of twilight. If these were middle class kids or what we call high society kids in the Caribbean, this matter would have been dealt with years ago in the most cruel and unusual way (castration).
The man that raped the eight year old turned himself in he was eighteen years old!
She still recovering may she be healed where is the love for each other the government appears to allow lawlessness in some community to rule !
I was utterly sick in my gut to hear such an immoral, and disgusting thing happening on the Island.it pains my heart for those women and especially that little girl.I got two daughters and i dont thing i could react civilize,if some worthless, careless croft cross me like that.I thing the people in Jamaica should take one step further and find these culprits and administer a little jungle justice. The crime and volience must stop or minimize in Jamaica, today.A lot of Jamaican people wan go home and frad go visit and return fi reside and criminals making it impossible.A lot of Ja,people start to think twice, especially with the police and their historical disdain for Jamaican civil rights and their easyness to involved in crime. The time has come and as a Jamaican I support some strict law reform fi combat the crime and voilence.
Thank you @Rihanna for saving and bringing awareness to these kids.
I will not be happy until it is LAW to cut their $$$$$ penis off!!!!!! for raping women and children. They need to be scared mad at the thought of them having their dicks cut off. My heart bleeds for this little 8 year old girl and her family worthless s*** pots!!!!!!
terrible!!!
I hope and pray this stop and they continue to make a stand.
dem man too outta order and renk!
I hope that this movement spreads; @Rihanna started this discussion two years ago that is going on right now. She shed light on the treatment of women being abuse by men who won’t take no for an answer and that discussion elaborated to kids being abused.
Not to mention the police that shot 3 pregnant women recently in Jamaica. The police force needs to take responsibilty for their role in the violence against women as well.
