Caribbean Fever - Your ONLY destination to all things Caribbean and more
Antigua and Barbuda has announced that the customary two-week carnival celebrations will run for only seven days this year from Saturday, July 23 – Tuesday, August 2.
Cabinet ministers discussed the scaled down celebration with no super-spreader events. The government is still considering vaccination mandates and will release news on this in coming weeks.
Information Minister Melford Nicholas advised that planning with stakeholders has begun in order to get “optimal benefit from that week of activity”.
The government promises assistance to calypsonians and artists who need help advancing their art form, and electricity rates consideration will be given to studio owners who share this opportunity with the artists.
