The star of Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, EJ Johnson, Magic Johnson’s son, made a big impression when he attended a celebration post-runway show during the New York Fashion Week.
Clad in a thigh-high fringe skirt, black tank top, and knee-high stockings, he definitely showed off his new body! Thanks to the gastric sleeve, being devoted to Pilates, and staying away from fad diets, he has dropped 180 pounds from his once 360 pound frame. And he looks fabulous.
On #RichKids of Beverly Hills EJ confessed, “A lot of people think it’s the easy way out, but it’s not. It’s a step in the right direction, just a big push.” He continued, “I feel very mature, kind of in the right place for it and I’m very ready to look cute. The surgery is a huge deal for me and it will certainly be a positive change.”
This isn’t the first celerity to have had a significant weight loss with the help of bariatric surgery.
Rosie O’Donnell had the vertical gastric sleeve surgery two years ago after she had a heart attack in 2012. This particular surgery leaves your stomach like a banana when a portion of the stomach is removed.
Sharon Osbourne underwent gastric band surgery in 1999. The self-proclaimed food addict shared with “Entertainment Tonight” back in 2014 that she felt guilty for the surgery—even though she lost 100 pounds as a result.
Carnie Wilson is notorious for the troubles she has had with her weight throughout her life. In 1999 she had the gastric bypass surgery done in 1999 and then when she gained a lot of the weight back, she chose to have the gastric band put on, which helped her to shed 30 pounds.
Randy Jackson, former American Idol judge, had the bypass surgery done in 2003 after his weight peaked at 350 pounds and he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. After the loss, he went on to pen the book, “Body with Soul: Slash Sugar, Cut Cholesterol, and Get a Jump on Your Best Health Ever,” with the hopes of helping others achieve a healthier lifestyle.
Whether you think bariatric surgery is cheating or is an extreme measure, if you only use it as a tool to jump start a healthy lifestyle, you can achieve great success.
So, how do you think EJ looks? Did he lose the right amount of weight or does he need to lose more?
