A pilot, co-pilot, crew chief and two scuba divers were aboard the helicopter when it went down but Browne did not know which one of those individuals was injured.
Asked about whether the NYPD helicopter was involved in the security detail for President Barack Obama, who is in New York to speak at the United Nations, Browne said, "We do not discuss the details of our security procedures."Browne also said the helicopter is equipped with inflatable pontoons but it's unclear whether they deployed during this incident. He added that it's also unclear whether they were taking off or landing when the accident occurred.
Browne did not know what caused the helicopter to go down.Comment
