Newlywed LA Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs, 27, is found dead in his hotel room HOURS after posting a picture of himself about to set off on a Texas road trip and a day after pitching for his team

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs has died aged 27, the team announced Monday. 

Police in Southlake, Texas, said Skaggs was found unresponsive in his Hilton hotel room shortly after 2pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene and authorities do not suspect foul play or suicide but the investigation is ongoing. 

In a recorded 911 call obtained by The Blast, dispatchers can be heard calling the situation a 'medical emergency'. 

During a second 911 call a dispatcher categorizes it as a 'possible death investigation'.
