Tina Turner Dies at Age 83 After Battle with Illness | PicsVideos

Rock and Roll iconoclast rock and roll star Tina Turner died at 83, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Turner’s tumultuous career rivaled her personal life, where she publicly admitted she endured domestic abuse from her late ex-husband Ike Turner.

Hailed as a feminist trailblazer, Turner succumbed to a “long illness” in her home in Kusnacht close to Zurich, Switzerland, according to her reps, reports THR.
“With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” they said.

Turner reinvented herself as a pop sensation at 40, selling 200 million albums and winning nine Grammy Awards. She began her music career in the 1960s as part of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, a St. Louis blues band that evolved into rock.
