Todrick Hall Says Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss Was Under Pressure After ‘Ellen’ Scandal

Allison Holker Breaks Silence a Week after Husband Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss Dies by Suicide

Stephen “tWitch” Boss — the DJ for the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” — was allegedly stressed out from pressure related to Ellen’s “toxic workplace” scandal prior to his suicide.

According to Boss’ friend Todrick Hall, the online hate that Boss was receiving from the Ellen controversy may have contributed to his fragile state of mind before his death.

Back in 2020, DeGeneres was accused by several former employees of fostering a workplace culture of  “racism, fear and intimidation”. At the time, Boss defended the talk show host.

“People were looking at him like, ‘Why are you still supporting this woman’,” Hall told Page Six, “and I think he was under a lot of pressure.”

Boss died by suicide at age 40. He allegedly took his own life at an L.A. hotel on Dec. 13.

“I don’t know what was going on in his life that may [have led] him to make that decision but I do understand,” Hall told Page Six.

“Right now when I get online some days like right now, if I was in the wrong position of where this abuse would keep happening for years and years and years, there’s only so much a human being can take,” he added.

“He was just somebody who always supported me. He was also kind and down to earth. He came over my house a couple of times and we shot TikTok videos together,” Hall said of Boss.

DeGeneres publicly commented on Boss’ death via a statement shared on Instagram: “I’m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia,” she wrote alongside a photo of her and tWitch hugging.

She also posted a video on Facebook showing her favorite moments with the “So You Think You Can Dance” star.

“Right now what I want to do is remember all the love and laughter I had with tWitch,” Ellen captioned the clip. “He brought so much joy to my life. I know he brought joy to yours too. I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite moments with him. If you want to you can also share yours. #ILovetWitch”.

Allison Holker has finally broken her online silence that began with her husband’s untimely death a week ago. Holker’s husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, 40, died by suicide. The former “Dancing with the Stars” pro has been grieving without sharing her agony on her social media handles.

But in her first social media post since the tragedy, she shared a photo of her and her late husband. Coincidentally, the couple celebrated their ninth anniversary just days before “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” DJ’s passing.

The 34-year-old grieving widow accompanied the photo with the caption: “My ONE and ONLY Oh how my heart aches.”

“We miss you so much,” she added.

This was her next post after the one she posted two days before her husband’s death, in which she shared a video of her and him dancing together to “December Back 2 June,” a song by Alicia Keys. The video post’s comment section ended up being the platform where fans and friends wrote their heartfelt and supportive messages. Among the people who wrote their condolences here include stars like Denise Richards, Ashley Graham, and Olivia Munn.

On December 10, just a day before the video post, the couple who were both “So You Think You Can Dance” alums posted messages to each other to mark their anniversary.

“I couldn’t be more grateful to celebrate this perfect magical day!!!” Holker wrote. “Saying YES to @sir_twitch_alot has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life!! I feel so blessed and loved!! I love you baby and I will never take you or OUR love for granted! I LOVE YOU #happyanniversary #bosswedding2013.”

Although she took a week to return to her social media pages to moan her husband, Allison shared a statement with PEOPLE soon after the news of Stephen’s passing broke on December 14.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us,” she said in the statement. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”

She added that Stephen had left more than a legacy, and his positive impact would still be felt.

“I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children,” she added.

R.I.P. | Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, Former ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ DJ and ‘SYTYCD’ All-Star, Dead at 40

p>

More details have emerged about the death of Stephen “tWitch” Boss. According to police authorities, they recovered a note that the former “Ellen DeGeneres Show” DJ left behind in his room at the Oak Tree Inn Motel.
The note made reference to former challenges and feeling he could no longer go on with life, ET reports. Boss did not make it clear the specific issues that were causing him distress. On the day of his death, Boss placed his phone in airplane mode to prevent his loved one from locating him, TMZ reports.
His wife, Allison Holker, tried to call the 40-year-old father of their three children and contacted LAPD for help. A motel employee discovered the Boss’ body on Tuesday, according to the New York Post. On Friday, his mother, Connie Boss Alexander, made a public post about her son’s passing.
“Family and friends, thank you for all the love, prayers and encouragement,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “Please know I see all the messages, texts, posts and the phone calls. I can’t use words right now. Please know I will reach out when I can. Stephen Laurel, your mother loves you to eternity and beyond,” she wrote, at the end.

I don't want to speak for someone who is no longer able to defend themselve. I will however offer a suggestion to anyone going through it now. Delete SM. What you don't hear can't affect your thoughts and continue doing what works for you. If you done something wrong then I would suggest righting that wrong so it doesn't stay on your soul. Nothing or Nobody in this world should be that much where you put it in your mind to take your life. NOTHING!

Family,

I don't know what was going on in Mr. Boss' life, but one thing to consider, is whether he was under any medication. I know a lot of us have high blood pressure and diabetes. I know a lot of us take medication for these ailments. What is not known by a lot of us, is these medications have side affects and a common side affect is suicidal thoughts. I'm not saying this was the cause.  All I'm saying is be aware of the side affects of the medications you take. Talk to someone. Your death doesn't help your family, you being here does. Stay safe family.
