Manhattan's busy Museum of Modern Art is evacuated after two employees 'are stabbed by a regular MoMA visitor whose membership was revoked just yesterday for disorderly conduct'

Museum of Modern Art is evacuated after 'at least two people are stabbed on first floor'

The Museum of Modern Art in New York City was evacuated on Saturday afternoon after a regular visitor stabbed two employees when they denied him entrance.
Police officials said two museum workers were stabbed inside the museum at around 4 p.m. when a former museum member who had his membership revoked on Friday for two cases of disorderly conduct attacked them.
The man had jumped on top of the reception desk, pulled out a knife, and stabbed the female workers in the back, collar bone and neck multiple times, police said. The injuries were not life-threatening, according to NYPD officials, as the victims were transported to a nearby hospital.

The suspect, who fled the scene after the attack, is wearing a dark jacket, blue facemask and sunglasses, sources told DailyMail

One of the victims had said, 'I'm going to get hazard pay,' as she was taken into an ambulance, the New York Postreported. Police have yet to identify the victims.

Cops lined up and down 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan after they responded to reports of the stabbings, and people were advised to avoid the area, which is under investigation.
