The Rams have won their second Super Bowl and their first in Los Angeles, beating the Bengals, 23-20
Trailing 20-16, and without injured star receiver Odell Beckham Jr., the Rams and quarterback Matthew Stafford appeared to be out of luck against the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday night in Inglewood
Instead, Stafford ended his first season with the club by tossing a game-winning TD pass to Cooper Kupp
Stafford, the first pick of the 2009 NFL Draft, had always been known as a top quarterback with a bad supporting cast over a dozen years with the hapless Detroit Lions, but wins a title in his first season in LA
The Rams made it to the Super Bowl with quarterback Jared Goff three years earlier, but lost to the Patriots
Prior to the season, the Rams traded Goff, two first-round picks, and a third-round pick to Detroit for Stafford
The Rams are now the second NFL team to win a Lombardi Trophy on its home field after the Bucs last season
Stafford and wife Kelly have gone through a lot since 2019, when she had surgery to remove a brain tumor. That procedure ultimately proved successful and the couple welcomed their fourth daughter in June of 2020
For the Rams - a team founded in Cleveland in 1937 before moving to Los Angeles in 1946, to St. Louis in 1995, and back to LA in 2016 - the victory marks their second Super Bowl win and fourth NFL championship
Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief knowing the Super Bowl halftime show will be penis-free ... 'cause Dr. Dre says he convinced Eminem and Snoop Dogg to NOT whip out their junk during the performance. Yes, he really said that!! The legendary rapper made the revelation while speaking at a press conference on Thursday ... and it's safe to say you can cross "dong exposure" off your list of prop bets for the show. Dre says there WILL be a few surprises ... but no sort of wardrobe malfunctions will be happening on his watch. "I had to talk Snoop and Eminem out of pulling their penises out," Dre said. "It's just actually Eminem." Snoop -- who will be performing alongside Em, Dre, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige-- says he might still show a lil' somethin' somethin' ... but calm down, he's only talking about taking his shirt off.
Of course, SB halftime shows have had their history of racy moments ... from Janet Jackson's wardrobe mishap in 2004 to J Lo and Shakira's dancing routine that ramped up 1,300 FCC complaints in 2020.
Shoutout to Dre for clearing the air and letting everyone know it'll be a family-friendly affair.
