Cops discover dozens of decomposing bodies in U-Haul trucks outside Brooklyn funeral home after neighbors complained they could 'smell death' and that corpses had been 'mounting up for weeks'

  • Around 100 bodies were found in two rental trucks outside the Andrew T. Cleckley Funeral Home in Brooklyn
  • Police investigated on Wednesday after neighbors reported a foul smell and seeing bodies being loaded in
  • Police found about 50 bodies being stored in each of the trucks, which were not refrigerated 
  • The facility said it was forced to store bodies in the trucks when its freezer broke
  • No criminal charges were brought but the funeral home has been cited for failure to control the smell 
  • Funeral homes across the have been overwhelmed in recent weeks amid the coronavirus pandemic

Police responded to a report of human bodies in vehicles in Brooklyn on Wednesday which they determined were connected to the nearby funeral home. They discovered 100 decomposing bodies in two U-Haul truck. A freezer truck was brought in by officials who helped workers transfer the corpses which had been wrapped in body bags found two unrefrigerated U-Haul box trucks being used to store the bodies outside of Andrew T. Cleckley Funeral Home in Flatlands after neighbors filmed body bags being dragged into them in recent days.

There were as many as 50 corpses being stored in each truck, according to ABC News, as the facility struggled to keep up with the overwhelming surge of bodies due to the coronavirus outbreak.   

Police found the bodies in various stages of decomposition. 

The owner told city officials that its freezer had stopped working and they were forced to use the trucks as storage while bodies awaited burial or cremation.

After neighbors complained for weeks about the smell coming from U-Haul vans being used to store bodies at the funeral home, the NYPD investigated Wednesday and discovered 100 bodies in various stages of decomposition

So disrespectful to the person and the families. That was them being cheap and greedy. They should have rented refrigerated trucks

There are quite a few things that are really disturbing here. First is if their freezer broke how long was it out for. They were supposed to have a company on call for that. Why didn't they rent refrigerated trucks if they had to store them?

2 If they knew their freezer was down why were they still accepting bodies? Pure greed! For people to say they smell the bodies they had to been unrefrigerated for some time. 

3 Look at the picture of the two guys by the van they are not properly covered up at all which means they are exposing themselves to this shyt and then go around others with it spreading it.

Totally unprofessional
