Charles Barkley Speaks On Kobe Bryant's 2003 Rape Case: 'Had A Flaw That We All Know About'

Charles Barkley Speaks On Kobe Bryant's 2003 Rape Case: 'Had A Flaw That We All Know About'
Charles Barkley is catching some heat after he addressed the 2003 rape case against late basketball legend, Kobe Bryant, saying that it is a part of his legacy.

"You have to tell the picture in totality,' Barkley said during a group debate on Inside The NBA. "We're not making Kobe out to be no hero. We're celebrating his basketball excellence. We understand what happened in Colorado. That's fair, but two things can be true."

Barkley's comments were in response to the recent backlash CBS news anchor, Gayle King, faced after she interviewed WNBA player Lisa Leslie, where she pressed her to speak on whether or not the rape case tarnished his legacy.

He later added: "Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest basketball players ever. And he had a flaw that we all know about."

Is Charles Barkley right about the allegation being a part of his legacy, or is he way off the mark?

Agreed it is part of his history hit his legacy. His mistake with was getting involved with the woman as a married man. We don’t know what really happened because the woman didn’t want to go to court and have her history exposed. He was willing to face what he did and the woman was willing to accept payment. Without a video, or lie detector test taken by both parties the world will never know the truth unfortunately.

It’s a mistake in his past his legacy is what he gave to the game and all the philanthropic gifts he shared with organizations. There are very few if any perfect people in the world. How you live your life after making mistakes will become part of your legacy. How you changed your life for the better. I believe he did just that.

Can a legacy be negative?
A legacy is something you are creating today, whether you realize it or not. There are two types of legacies that one can leave behind, a positive or a negative legacy. If one is not intentional about the legacy they are creating, an unintended legacy will be created whether you plan on it or not.

The same place you got your definition the one above yours defined mine, you chose to overlook it because it didn’t meet your standard. Just because you don’t want to acknowledge it doesn’t diminish its existence.

What I posted is the definition of a person’s legacy which differs from the definition of legacy. Legacy and history are synonymous positive or negative.

Legacy is leaving your mark whether positive or negative it’s a correlation of one’s behavior and actions. Kobe was not a Saint nor a God he was a man subject to poor judgement and mistakes. The quintessential mark of any individual is to learn from mistakes and grow from them. He proved that but many of you what to glorify the ideal of Kobe and not the reality of Kobe.

Your personal definition of legacy is inaccurate. I posted the definition of legacy. Reference that for fallacies. Legacy and history are synonyms.

  • Legacy is putting a stamp on the future and making a contribution to future generations. One incident is not a legacy. Everything that one does, is a part of their history. We all have a history. We all don't have a legacy.

Regardless how anyone feels his legacy and history are intertwined and synonymous
